Young/Anderson/Hyatt

But a football player takes a risk in every game they play. And every player knows these risk from the very start of their playing.
Yea, but bowl games don't really count for much. It's an exhibition game. Some players are willing to play. Some don't want to risk it. Get over the old school notion that love of school and teamates dominates everything. College football is a business from top to bottom. Tennessee benefitted greatly from having Hyatt. Hyatt benefitted greatly from playing at Tennessee.

Now that time is ended.

Lack of respect and gratitude for the opportunity they were given just to get the chance to play college football. Without the opportunity given them they would nevrr of had a chance to make it to nfl. It also shows a selfish decision, totally disregarding their team mates. just my opinion
Ah yes total disregarded when he signed an NIL deal with a hotel,to put his teams family up for the bowl game. Also Tennessee wasn't the only program to offer Jalin. His talent got him a scholarship and NIL deal and HIS talent will put him in the NFL. I am sure he is thankful for his team and coaches and has been a solid kid for 3 years here. Kinda feel like your attack in this young mans character is very unwarranted

Hyatt has displayed his "respect and gratitude" every day for months each of three years he showed up to practice, and three years of suiting up on Saturdays for games. By risking serious injury on the field each of those hundreds of times. Perhaps only Hooker has had as much to do with TN's restoration as Hyatt.

Your narcissistic, selfish disregard of his enormous contributions thereby begs for revocation of your Vol card. Unlike @first time caller who likely will be given a training wheels path back to Vol Card holder status - an Austin Peay Card - you exhibit no remorse and thereby permanently revoke thine own card.

May God have mercy on your soul,

Not attacking him, he has the right to make whatever decision he comes up with, but I just disagree. College scholarships along with current nil. Ths gives players the oppotunity they now have. I just think they should be thankful for this opportunity and show it. With this said an insurace policy should be provided in case of injury for players of this ccaliber

In playing this year he did what he made a comitment to do. Give your all for ut. And in playing he earned the right for a big pay day. wihout the opportunity given to him, where would he be?

Exploding onto the scene making another program relevant and still going to the NFL?

Guys were making life changing money 10 and 20 years ago. That hasn’t changed. So what has?

What has changed imo is players only playing for themselves. One of the reasons for personal fouls in games; not thinking of what the penalty does for the team, but only showing their anger; and not thinking about the repucussions of their actions. I am not talking about all players, only some of them.

I promise you that Saban didn't push starters and over half of his WRs to the portal. Kirby has like 2 kids (maybe one) in the portal right now. How many people are saying Alex Golesh quit on his team? He didn't stick around for the bowl game, and Heupel advised him to do what was best for his career. I suppose you see that as professional malpractice as well?

I do think coaches should finish the entire year out including bowl games.

I don’t like people opting out of bowls, but bowls are a glorified exhibition game. They don’t mean anything. Why would Hyatt risk tearing an ACL, drop rounds in the draft, for a glorified exhibition game? It doesn’t make any sense, business or other wise. This isn’t the 90’s where bowls actually meant something. And get used to it because bowls are just going to keep losing their value when the playoff goes to 12. If everyone cared this much about bowl games we should have kept the old BCS model. Now the regular season and bowl games matter less and less every year.

If everyone is of this opinion, I think all bowls should be banned. I personally like the bowl games, however, if many of the players are opting out then just do away with the bowls. It is not near as interesting when the teams best players opt out of playing.

You do make a very valid point

Framing these games as exhibitions probably best illustrates the dangers of participation. Appollo Creed is a prime example for not participating in them.

Players who opt out have more love for themselves than they do for their teammates and coaches. Right or wrong that’s what it is. No other way to slice it.

All I gotta say is that if I was an NFL GM it would matter to me. I think it says something about the player's view of the ole TEAM-me dynamic. That's always been my opinion and I'm not changing because it's one of our guys sitting out. IDGAF what anybody says this is a huge game for this program. We have not been to one of the original major bowls in 20+ years. That means alot to this fanbase and it should mean alot to this team, especially it's ostensible leaders. I bet Hendon Hooker would be playing if he was healthy.
Yeah, well....You remember that Tillman got hurt playing Akron, so you can't blame Hyatt for not playing.

So my whole issue with everyone b1tching is the sentiment that Tillman is ok to sit yet the guy getting drafted above him isn't ? You are all nutty as hell if you think Tillman isn't healthy

I bet you say "I hate cancel culture" at least once a month

I have an idea. If everyone who is complaining about Hyatt would put 100,000 dollars in a pot it would add up to a few million dollars and you could probably convince Hyatt to play at that point, as it would off-set some of the risk for him. I mean really, if you don't do it, you're just selfish and definitely aren't VFL.

I think the main reason why Anderson and Young are playing and Hyatt isn’t is because if Young or Anderson gets hurt their draft stock likely doesn’t change much if any at all. If Hyatt gets hurt (particularly a lower body injury) it definitely impacts his draft stock because of how much he relies on his speed, an injury could cost Hyatt millions whereas anything outside of paralysis likely won’t hurt Anderson and Young much

Disagree with this in that if either of them get hurt it will 100% impact their rookie contract much moreso than Jaylen.
