Young/Anderson/Hyatt

Joe Milton is the epitome of VFL! Lost his starting job to Hooker last year, and is still here mentoring Nico. My Vol card was revoked earlier today for my thoughts on Hyatt opting out. I demand the cards of those be revoked also who blast a VFL!!!

I’ve been critical but the dude has earned his shot…..plain and simple

It’s a lot easier to teach a guy not to throw it too far than it is to suddenly be strong enough to throw it 3/4 of the way down the field.

Then playing is hours it should be. Play until the end. I get it being all about the money but what happened to all the money UT invested in him? I know everyone is going to give me crap but I could care less. Put your freaking pads on and play for who made you what you are.

They more than got their money worth and then some out of his play this year.

Hyatt is afraid a 2 catch 14 yrd game will hurt his stock. Couldve had the record, but then again, he should've got it during the season also. I thought the best want to play against the best?

I've stated my opinion. If I were in his shoes I would be playing. But the decision is his and I respect his choice.

No disrespect to Jalin; he’s cemented his legacy and I wish him the best. That being said I don’t understand the opt out trend. Why is it suddenly acceptable to bail on your teammates during bowl season when it wasn’t acceptable to do so for generations prior?
Because money. I would have done it too if I was a top end athlete. Setup your family for life, or support but not play with your team of 3 years?

Hmmm…. 🤔 let’s see, a $20M, $50M, $100M career of life changing money or play a bowl game and possibly have a career ending injury? Idk 🤷‍♂️ I have no issue with guys opting out to preserve future earnings. Sure I would love to see Hyatt play one more time, but not at the expense of an entire career. Many of these kids come from nothing, so keep that in mind. This is their time.

They’ve done this since they were probably six years old, worked their butts off for years, sustained injuries along the way and we’re going to question and/or denigrate them for opting out of a bowl game because we, all of a sudden, don’t think they’re loyal “enough”. Let me know when anyone on this board turns down a six, seven, eight figure job because of what someone, who has no skin in the game on your behalf, might think or say. They’re not going to pay your bills and take care of your family if you lose your ability to play the game. This is every bit a business decision for these NFL prospects as it would be for any of us in the working world. They are no more or less loyal to UT for treating it as such.

Lack of respect and gratitude for the opportunity they were given just to get the chance to play college football. Without the opportunity given them they would nevrr of had a chance to make it to nfl. It also shows a selfish decision, totally disregarding their team mates. just my opinion

Saban is probably talking about taking out insurance polices for players in case they get a significant injury that affects their draft status.

If they're a 1st round talent and tear an acl or something in a playoff game, they have an insurance policy that will pay out 7 figures+ to compensate. So they're taking a risk by playing, but it's being minimized by insurance policies that will pay out if they are injured.

But a football player takes a risk in every game they play. And every player knows these risk from the very start of their playing.

This might win the “Vol Nation” stupid post of the day. Rethink what you said here man. I’m not risking millions of dollars with an injury on a meaningless game. It’s easy for you to do it because it isn’t YOUR money.

Just a simple pros vs con list makes it an easy choice for some people.

I agree with big orange

Young and Anderson are too 5 picks no matter what. Hyatt can still move up in the combines as long as he is healthy. It’s not the same thing.

They wouldnt be a top round pick if they got a serious injury. I admire them for playing.

And Corral got hurt this year with another lower leg injury and missed the whole year.

It’s insane that these people don’t understand it. Jalin Hyatt can stand to make $14M guaranteed if he gets drafted in the first round. He’s one bad cut away from losing MILLIONS. How could you watch Hendon, who went from being late first/early second to now probably a day 3 pick after his ACL tear and actually have the selfish audacity to criticize these guys? It’s like you people have never made a decision for your betterment ever.

Its called comitment, honoring your word. comitment; and living up to your word is more valuable than any amount of money. Its called gratitude for the opportunity given them to play football st the college level. Yes there are risk involed, but those risk are there from day one in playing football.

Like Heupel leaving for UCF during signing day week and after signing a dozen plus kids to UCF? Or commitment to Pruitt and the school firing his coach that recruited him? That kind of commitment?

Is that the commitment Golesh had to the school by leaving before the bowl? Is that the commitment Hendon Hooker had leaving Virginia Tech for UT?

It's a business. Teams, coaches and players do what is good for their future.
