Your Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Thread III

I can honestly say that whenever we win, it's because of some outside factor literally 97% of the time according to ESPN.

I've learned to ignore it at this point.

What happened?

KD at the line with under a minute to go. Ball in his hands about to shoot when JC goes crazy and grabs the ball from him. Runs over to the sideline and yells about something with the stat boards. KD missed the ft and they lose by 1.

It was ridiculous, but he is the best scorer and soon to be MVP. **** the **** up and make the shot.

JC needs to be thrown in a woodchipper with all his dumbassery behavior over the years.

It happens quite a bit throughout the season..whether they notice clock malfunctions or players doing something. The ref will blow the whistle, go take the ball from the shooter & settle the situation.

Obviously it was terrible timing by Crawford and he's still an idiot. Don't think he made KD miss the shot though.

Has nothing to do about what happened but when it happened.

You dont think what JC did affected KD? Any player knows things like that mess up your routine and you think more about the situation. What JC did was ridiculous at that point in a game.

You talking about the same Joey Crawford who overruled another official to give the ball to OKC, then reviewed it himself only to determine he was right all along when the video evidence showed otherwise?

That Joey Crawford?

Again, if KD is that mentally weak, we have a big problem.

It's only an argument that is made on the miss. I've noticed several times this series that when Zach gets the ball from the ref too early in his routine, he throws it back and starts over. I'm sure JC would have been glad to let KD regroup if that truly was in an issue. Nevermind KD was 2/4 FT when he went to the line there, iirc.

I ain't saying he messed up the game. It comes down to KD and him making a simple free throw. JC tries hard to be a good ref. But he's had a lot of bad moments.

Agreed. Nobody talks about his stats (or lack thereof) in clutch games.

Shouldn't have stopped him from hitting the shot. He's gaining a reputation for missing those when it counts the most.

Absolutely.

I guess i'm more pissed about it because i played and have had the same thing happen to me. Players will never use it as an excuse, but it annoys the hell out of em' when refs (or anyone) mess up the flow of a situation.

Going back to the finals 2 years ago. Everyone on that team is prone to playing scared in big moments, except the guy everyone blames and hates.

Crawford didn't make us shoot 35% in the first half, nor did he draw up that atrocious last shot. We got beat plan and simple.

Although I must say Tim Leggler was quite fair in his comments regarding the "situation" in his comments postgame.

Haven't been in this thread all night. Unfortunately, many of us may not live to see grandchildren because the Grizz have taken decades of life off of many inhabitants in Memphis during this series.

Grit n Grind!

I fell asleep in the third quarter as the Thunder were making a run. Just finished watching the highlights and all I can see is un-freaking-believable. What was the storyline at the end of the game when Conley had his pocket picked by Westbrook? It looked like the Grizz had the ball and the lead. Was the shot clock running down or something? I don't quite understand the scenario there.

Yeah pretty sure it was just a few seconds that separated the shot & game clock.

Because after Westbrook made the bucket, we still had 4 seconds to win the game & didn't even get a shot off.
