Your Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Thread III

The teams that have moved up are either good in football, in large(wealthy) market, fertile recruiting area, or rich enough booster base. Memphis is 0/4 in the things that matter...
I’m sure every political governing buddy is full of idiots but the local municipality is something I’m sure big conferences would like to steer clear of as well all other things being equal (and they aren’t)

And it’s not like the Grizzlies are being unreasonable. They aren’t demanding a new arena. They haven’t tried to move out East. They just want to partner in renovating a 20 yr old building.

I’d be lying if I said the dirty laundry being aired out publicly doesn’t concern me some.

Pera could just eventually say “**** it” and explores moving before the lease is up. Granted, a local group would be given an opportunity to match, but the franchise is creeping closer to $2 bil in value. A majority stake would then be close to if not over $1 bil for a local group. I’m not certain this city has enough interested, much less, wealthy enough investors to make a purchase.

Other cities don’t have a group of 5 school getting in the way of professional franchises like Memphis does. The U of M needs to get out of the way, or city leadership needs to step in and push them out of the way. I highly doubt that happens though. Nobody has a backbone.

Team needed long guy who can shoot 3s. Trey Murphy is there. Team takes injury plagued guy who can't shoot plus $70 million of bad deals...

That and Jitty should never be more than a plug and play for injured players. Nothing more.

Jitty wouldn't be in the rotation if we didn't turn Jonas, 72 million of cap space, Melton, and 4 first round picks into Jake, Zaire, and Roddy...

Jitty gets the mins because he's the best of those options.

I’m curious to see the allocations of the $350 mil being given to the city. My hope and belief is that the Grizz franchise is happy. That’s all that matters.

Grizzlies, through official team spokesman Chris Vernon, aren't happy Lofton showed up to camp at over 300 lbs...
He didn’t play at La Tech because of his skill level…..

He didn’t go undrafted because of his skill level…..

He isn’t rotting in Southaven because of his skill level……
