He could have run on making extended warranty solicitation calls illegal and it wouldn't have mattered. Alternate parties are shut out, weirdos which do not captivate the public's attention at all. Perot had the best numbers of any in modern politics. No one else has even come close.Gary Johnson ran on a 42% cut and we see how that went
I agree, but it becomes difficult to ever actually cut spending when the politicians constantly lie. They would have you believe that they are cutting spending, yet dollars actually paid by the government continue to increase every year. Politicians get their power from spending other people's money, and the majority of the American public is too stupid to pick up on the fact that a politician's spending cut translates to an actual increase in spending. Therefore, politicians see no incentive to actually cut spending. They just spend more every year and lie their asses off to the uninformed masses. That is an issue. The fuzzy accounting and squealing like a pig when a cut is proposed is corrupt.
But it isn't the biggest issue. The biggest issue is the actual spending.
Accounting isn't fuzzy. Politicians' speeches about accounting issues are incredibly fuzzy. Many of them don't understand it. The few that do lie about it anyway. That is an issue. The fuzzy accounting and squealing like a pig when a cut is proposed is corrupt.

All the government needs to do (which they never will) is allow private competition in ALL areas of the government provided services. There is already a vivid example of it on full display right now. SpacEX/Blue Origin/Virgin Galactic vs NASA. FedEx/UPS/DHL could render the post office inop. Private security could do away with the TSA (they already use private in SFO). I am starting to think that Gov. Abbot is going to tell the .gov to pound sand and provide his own security on the border since the Man of Dementia won't do it..I watched it happen in private industry before I retired. We had a contract with MSC Industrial supply to provide us with the mundane things like tools and the like and they were good at it, if I ordered something by 8PM I got it before noon the next day. At some point in time purchasing got involved and declared a new provider of everyday and what would take one day to get suddenly took a week or longer and cost twice as much. More often than not when you finally got the stuff you ordered it came in an MSC box, because the new supplier ordered it from them and then shipped it to us. Since it was a corporate decision everyone just shrugged and said nothing we can do about it. The US is doomed.

Oh. We could. Politicians choose not to do so. Since we're rapidly driving up inflation, the cost of buying votes keeps going up.I read somewhere recently that our government tax revenues are supposed to be somewhere near $4 Trillion this year. I find it hard to believe we can't live on $4,000,000,000,000 a year.
Most Ponzi schemes can’t print their own fiat currency.Ponzi schemes all fall apart eventually
And who's fault is it that alternate parties don't get traction? Is it the GOP and DNC and media? Or does that burden fall on the voters? He could have run on making extended warranty solicitation calls illegal and it wouldn't have mattered. Meh, default or hyperinflation... or even austerity in an effort to pay off the debt... similar result. Most Ponzi schemes can’t print their own fiat currency.
We won’t default. First we would massively devalue our currency and have rampant inflation before default. Look to Argentina as an example but not that extreme since at least right now the dollar is the world currency. Once that is taken from us we are absolutely toast like Argentina
Then do us all a favor and quit.I work in the defense industry and make my livelyhood from it. And I’ll categorically state we spend too much on the military. It isn’t the money so much that pisses me off it’s the efficiency. It is an industry setup to overspend and over run and be late. It’s horribly run just like everything else the damn federal government touches.
Oh yeah all of us Boomers are gonna be sitting on our asses wanting OUR gubmint check. There’s gonna be plenty of job opportunities so give up your damn dream of Central African basket weaving archeology study and get your ass in the 9-5 office and pay those benesThe shock that he will be supplementing our cave asses is glorious..Get to work kid...lol
