Your Recruiting Fix is on the way

You need to go. Only negative is - very early in the morning for me. In the past the coach goes over videos of the commitments - everyone cheers, etc. Good opportunity to see Dooley and the new coaches up close.

Strongly encourage you to go.

+1 to everything he said - including the "very early in the morning" part.

Last year, the previous coach had each of his position coaches speak about their players so you got a feel for what they were like, too.

You'll enjoy it.

BONUS: Probably no false accusations about rival coaches this year.

Is it possible that USC wouldn't take a committment from Ambles and that is why he is looking around again? I know that in almost any situation you take him, but if USC only has 3 spots left and already have the best 2 WR's in this class, it makes you wonder...

This is a fairly insightful read on the NCAA investigation at USC. It possibly explains why the process has taken so much time.

USC on probation? - CBSSports.com Message Boards

“The Trojans represent a must-get for the NCAA, a case that is so over-the-top, so well-publicized and so blatantly against the most obvious of rules that it can’t allow the Trojans to escape without losing all credibility and dealing with an avalanche of national criticism. Many in college athletics wonder that if the NCAA can’t get USC, what’s the point of the operation?”

“In this situation, the delay actually was a sign of serious intent. It’s trying to deliver a thorough case to a jury that knows college sports’ credibility is on the line.”

Great read!

No. He is a very good prospect. X called him and wants him not only for USC, but I think there is a little desire that we don't get him either. Otherwise how do you explain them going after loften.

I understand that, but with only 3 spots available, I think X was just trying to put doubt in Loften's mind about coming here, I highly doubt he would have ever accepted a committment from him. Everyone is saying USC is looking at big splashes on NSD, and you know that is how X operates. All i'm saying is that they have to have bigger needs than WR, with the best 2 in the country going to USC already. I know X wants to **** us over and all but in the end I don't see Ambles going to USC.

As vindictive as I believe him to be, I find it hard to believe that he would recruit someone he either doesn't need (due to prater and woods) or doesn't have room for in this class, just to spite a school that he won't play in the near future and did nothing but give him a job when he was out of work.

Sounds good as a conspiracy theory, but he still has a lot to prove as a coach, so I see him more focused on that than the team he abandoned.
