Did not see that....

:hi:

Meh, could have labeled it better myself.

Still nonsense either way. But I would like to hear the school's side of the matter just for the record. Strangely quiet on that front.

Generally when that happens, they know they're effed.

Let me summarize it for you;

"For the children".

So the police are starting to report that the Cox girl was drinking at the party......hmmmm. Time will tell.

I'd like to see the documents these folks are talking about. They put up the email from the police officer, but not the official court documents that were obtained legally.

Also, this site has been the complete opposite in the case since day one. I haven't seen them put up anything nice to say about the alleged victims in this case.

The author's contention is:

The real story here is that the national media reported on a story without picking up the phone and verifying ONE fact that they were reporting. I agree with those who say she is just a teen age kid who lied, like most kids lie when they get in trouble, but if she and her family had not recruited the national media to TELL their lie it wouldn’t be a story at all.

He says that the attorney put out a fake story to the media that the media ran with without first checking any facts. And that the school district's hands were largely tied in responding b/c of potential legal troubles.

Seems legit.

Again though, two sides. While the national level media was having a heyday with the zero tolerance stuff, this local outlet was basically picking sides as well.

But again, what I'd like to see are the court documents that the girl supposedly signed saying she was drinking. And furthermore, how can a local newspaper report that an underage person is enrolling in a substance abuse program? I could be wrong, but I think that violates some sort of privacy laws.

Calling LG or our other resident legal type...

Doubtful since shes a juvenile.

Although Ethan explained the bullying situation, he says that administrators ignored his side of the story. The teen was taken to the principal’s office and News 12 notes that, “he was suspended, pending the outcome of a psychological evaluation.”

And people think I'm crazy for saying it's a good thing to legislate common sense.

Related although not zero tolerance:

Yale student , 92 lbs., stuffed her face with Cheetos, ice cream to pacify school officials

The 20-year-old history major has spent the past few months sparring with Yale’s health center over her low weight. Chan is 5’2” and 92 lbs., and Yale doctors were concerned her health was severely at risk.

She contended that she’s always been very thin, as were her parents and grandparents at her age.

Yet until Friday, Yale had been telling Chan she might be forced to leave school if she didn’t put on some pounds.

This seems to be a problem; I thought schools were supposed to be taking the bullying thing very seriously (which I don't disagree with btw), yet in this case apparently their idiotic zero tolerance crap overruled it unconditionally.

So lesson for the bullies, just accuse the person you want to terrorize of making a gun motion and you're good to go.
