AJ Johnson Situation Updates(News and Links only - No Discussion)

Sorry to not update the other thread, felt like this was some pretty groundbreaking news. If it's not so groundbreaking, feel free to merge :hi:

The Knoxville Police Department interviewed on camera the accuser and various witnesses, including three women with ties to her. Those interviews revealed the accuser had been texting Johnson leading up to the night in question and that the only eyewitness to what was going on inside Johnson’s bedroom just before the encounter sent text messages while still in the room.

Both women later claimed problems with their phones led them to ditch the phones and get new ones. The defense has accused them of intentionally destroying evidence. Prosecutors deny that.

Tampering with evidence? Of course not.

Add this further information to it...

Hixson(prosecutor) on Tuesday filed in court copies of KPD interviews with the accuser and some of the other witnesses but sought to have that information sealed from the public. He did not say why. McGee approved the sealing, also without any explanation.

Wow! So not only did the women destroy evidence but the prosecutor got the judge to block the KPD interviews of the woman and other witnesses. Why not just bury all the evidence that proves the guys are innocent and send them to court.

A great criminal defense attorney once told me when you can delay, delay, delay, stories change, the sting is somewhat diminished. Almost always favors the defense.

It's just been sealed from the public, which is not uncommon in criminal cases. The defense would still have access to them.

Anyone who thinks our courts/justice system have anything to do with innocence or guilt is naïve. It's about winning, nothing else. Padding the stats, that's ALL prosecutors do, they don't care about ruining lives or anything else, just winning baby!

Sad, but true in many instances. Not everyone, but definitely too many.

Has the accuser's name been released yet?

Just for a better understanding...Accuser names 2 college athletes, 1 of whom had an NFL combine invite, and their names are publicly blasted literally around the world. For 12 months! AJ has a degree from UT and was on his way to playing on Sundays...but has had to get a job at a tractor supply company to pay lawyer fees. Due to his name being blasted publicly throughout the media...people have literally had discussions about whether it is a good idea to allow their kid to get a picture taken with AJ when he attended a game this season.

But the accuser's name is still not public? Just doesn't seem fair to me. If he is found guilty, hang him by the balls but either both accuser and accused should be named or neither until its settled in court.
