Sometimes high school friends want to play college ball together. Sometimes it works out and sometimes things fall through and players part ways and play at different schools. For Shaun Lewis and Toney Hurd JR, it could be either option. The problem is that the perception is it is a done deal they will play together. Lewis committed to Oklahoma State over the summer and now Hurd is left to field the famous question, will you follow Lewis to Oklahoma State?

“I get that question a lot,” said the talented Hurd. “I am saying honestly right now, every school has a chance right now. I am just waiting to sort through some stuff with schools to truly see who is recruiting me and who wants me. Those are the schools I want to take a look at. Those will be the official visits I plan on taking.”

While the date to cut down his list of schools is approaching, Hurd has already started to begin preparing for his senior year after a busy summer.

“I spent the summer working really hard and working to get better,” said Hurd. “I felt that the summer went really well for me and my team. We worked on getting to the top and staying there. Now it is time to focus on actual football and I am leaving a game I went to go see. I went to scout against a team we will play down the road so I wanted to get a feeling for them.”

With Hurd looking to cut his order of schools down VolNation.com asked Toney Hurd, JR what are the chances the Vols get a visit from this talented 5’9 180 pound corner with 4.4 speed.

“I actually just tried to call Tennessee and the coaches up there earlier today,” said Hurd. “I didn’t get to talk to the coaches because I called too late but I really want to speak with them. They are a school that is coming after me hard right now and I want to try and maybe visit them if I can.”

The chances appear to be good that Hurd will travel east to check out Tennessee.

With Hurd close to finalizing his official visits VolNation.com will keep you in the loop with this talented corner and his recruitment.
