Four Vols have knee surgery, three others have shoulder procedures
The University of Tennessee announced today that multiple football team members have undergone successful surgery during the off-season period.
Four Vols have undergone arthroscopic knee surgery: sophomore offensive lineman Alex Bullard, junior linebacker Greg King, freshman running back Marlin Lane, and sophomore defensive lineman Marlon Walls. All four are expected to be fully recovered in order to participate without restriction in spring practice.
Additionally, three Vols have undergone shoulder surgery: sophomore defensive lineman Daniel Hood, freshman linebacker Curt Maggitt, and junior defensive back Prentiss Waggner. All three are expected to be limited to non-contact drills during spring practice but should be fully recovered in order to participate without restriction in summer workouts.
All of the surgeries referenced above were performed by Dr. Greg Mathien and Dr. Russell Betcher of the Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic at UT Medical Center.
