This is CBJ's first season as a HChmy: I didn't know that! Maybe he will be a world-beater
eace2: in all seriousness I do think he'll be a fine HC. I'm not quite sure he'll be able to live up to some Vol fan's expectations. Time will tell.:hi:

No problem :good!: just speaking the truth - I try to remain objective, but regardless I hope we stomp the $h!t out of you guys  Oh and no injuries! I'll root for you when you play UF though
So as a Vol fan, you want UGA to keep a guy who is 9-4 against us?

Well, we're all disappointed when we lose. But all reasonable UGA fans knew that Pruitt cleaned house when he came in and we knew our backfield would be very thin. Losing by 3 at USC that night was disappointing, but it could have happened to any team in the US, given the circumstances (rain delay, away game, rival with nothing to lose, TD called back, fraction-of-an-inch measurement, etc). Why didn't CBJ have a winning season last year if Pruitt should have done so with our D? You can't argue both ways. We've had Jancek/Martinez and now we have Pruitt. We're okay with the way things are.
I just have to go back to this one more time. "Rival with nothing to lose"? How is that exactly? Win that game and they are right back in the east race. Get run out of their stadium and everyone is saying it's time for Spurrier to retire. Plus I doubt they were shaking in their boots because UGA beat Clemson. Something SC does every single year. Even when Clemson was more talented than this year's team.
Did you see the USuCk boards before the game? About 75% of their fans had thrown the towel in and were just hoping for a moral victory.
Oh, so you are one of those people who believe what is said by fans on message boards affects what happens on the field? I'm just saying SC had plenty to lose. Did that win not put them ahead of UGA in the east race? It would be different if they were 0-5 in conference at the time of the game.

Kinda agree with you. He's done well at his previous stops, flashed only twice last year that he can get his team to overachieve, looked awful vs teams with more talent and had one of the worst losses in program history vs Vandy. So far this year we look a well coached team that gives better effort and is substantially more athletic than I've seen in awhile.
But Ive yet to see anything from Butch at UT that screams world beater on the field. That being said, it's still early and if he finds a way to steal one at Georgia and somehow become the first UT coach to beat Florida since the freaking Taft administration then I'll change my mind.

I guess my terminology "nothing to lose" might have been misleading. What I meant was that they already had a blemish on their record, so they could have an "all-or-nothing" attitude. It's like when you stink up the first 9 holes and then say "screw it" and shoot even par on the back side. They didn't shoot even par but they did good enough to beat us by 3. Given all of the circumstances of that game, I don't think many teams beat them that night. I was there and it was nasty.
