What Other Message Boards Are Saying: Georgia Bulldogs Edition

Honestly, Richt has had one bad year at UGA (2010), a few decent years (8-9 wins) and aside from that excellent years (10+). I know we're in here trash talking and I hate to ruin the spirit of that, but he's not a bad coach and I HOPE UGA fans are dumb enough to can his a$$. If you think it's easy to find a coach that does that in his sleep and it's worth canning him because he has never brought home the nat'l championship, have at it!

The UGA fans I speak to regularly feel EXACTLY the same. We look at what's happened to your program over the last 5 or so years, what's happened to UF (not that they fired Urbie but same end result) or even closer to us with GT and we know that if you don't have someone you can immediately pull in that is proven better, then don't bother. The fire CMR to hire some hot coordinator is such a gamble that it doesn't make sense. It's a lot easier for a bad coach to take a good program backwards than it is for a good one to move a program to some elite status.

Thanks for posting this.

I can anticipate next week's version of this. When you go to Gator boards, the theme will be 1) Driskel sucks; 2) Muschamp sucks; 3) If we lose to UT, Muschamp is officially toast at UF; 4) Driskel sucks.

This has nothing to do with you.
Come back in a week.

There was something there to work with yes, but the culture of the program was to accept 8 wins and be happy it wasn't Ray Goff. No accountability for the players as well back then. The entire mindset had to be changed.
Two words. Derek Dooley.
Don't talk at me about mindset changes.

Why is it that anytime we have a thread about a rival team, their nutsack fans show up to defend their dips*** team? Do they not realize that we don't give a f***? We hate you. Or at least I do anyways.

I'd much rather have the bulk of opposing fans here that are usually classy, well spoken and rational than the large number of mouth breathers that frequent VN.

I agree with you, but you know as well as I do that there's a growing "Richt can't get it done" contingent. I talk to th everyday.

Yeah, Hurd is ahead of where Gurley was as a freshman....for what it's worth. Not dissing Gurley, he just didn't come in and change the world right away. He developed nicely.

gold... you have the Runnin Utes as one of your favorite teams, You have Utah ties?

Wait your damn turn gator. You have another week before that. Overzealous. Smh.

'98...........still holdin' on to that one. Bet some of you would trade that rusted ring for a winning season about now.

Never will trade a NC and that undefeated season for anything... it was pure magic and it's something that we are building back up to in the near future:)

It really depends on how the Oline plays and if we can establish the run game. If the OL can make some holes and have Hurd and Lane pose a threat, our passing game will benefit greatly. We have the talent on the perimeter to take them out.

Class post by a knowledgeable CFB fan. No, CMR doesn't have a ring. Might not get one. But he's produced lots of very competitive teams, excitement, and fine young men. I wouldn't trade him for any HC in the SEC. Best wishes on no injuries on Sat, 'cept for the butt hurt. :hi:

I'm sure the GA coaches are reminding their players that UT was just inches short from beating them last year. GA fans haven't forgotten and know that Coach Richt is good for two unexpected loses a year.

Oh...being an UGA fan I'd trade Richt as soon as possible at this point, but being a Vol fan I'd ask that you please keep him for....another decade if you can. Great guy, puts a decent product on the field...just can't get it done. Just don't see a NC in him.

So as a Vol fan, you want UGA to keep a guy who is 9-4 against us?

Dooleys three years don't count. CBJ is about to start one hell of a streak.

Afraid it does. CBJ's years will count as well. Can't pick and choose which seasons you want to count. CBJ's success, or failure, remains to be seen. If he was a world-beater, I think it would have shown already.
