What Other Message Boards Are Saying: Georgia Bulldogs Edition

I can anticipate next week's version of this. When you go to Gator boards, the theme will be 1) Driskel sucks; 2) Muschamp sucks; 3) If we lose to UT, Muschamp is officially toast at UF; 4) Driskel sucks.

I honestly have never seen Gator fans more dejected than this season. Pretty much to a person it's that way. I have said myself if we don't manage to beat you guys this year with it in Neyland and a 10 year streak on the line then we don't deserve to go to a bowl.

There was something there to work with yes, but the culture of the program was to accept 8 wins and be happy it wasn't Ray Goff. No accountability for the players as well back then. The entire mindset had to be changed.

The culture of the program was that everybody in administration thought Donnan was an a-hole and he lost to Tech a couple of times which you can't do at UGA. Donnan's winning percentage wasn't all that far below Richt's.

I don't remember that coming into the conversation, but thanks! It's still a possible goal. We just have to TCB. Starting this Sat.:hi:

you brought it into the conversation talking about a rusty ring from 98. too bad thats 18 years closer than georgias last ring.

34 years ago. where you even alive in 80?

Really? CMR's % is 58 points higher than Donnan's ... that's actually quite a bit. Donnan left with a .678 which is, as I mentioned, quite mediocre. Not to mention, Richt had already had 4 straight 10+ win seasons in his first five years. Donnan had 1 in five years including a losing season his first year (Goff's fault for the talent void, but his lone double digit win season was the very next year) and never got the team beyond the Outback Bowl.

Well, we're all disappointed when we lose. But all reasonable UGA fans knew that Pruitt cleaned house when he came in and we knew our backfield would be very thin. Losing by 3 at USC that night was disappointing, but it could have happened to any team in the US, given the circumstances (rain delay, away game, rival with nothing to lose, TD called back, fraction-of-an-inch measurement, etc). Why didn't CBJ have a winning season last year if Pruitt should have done so with our D? You can't argue both ways. We've had Jancek/Martinez and now we have Pruitt. We're okay with the way things are.

In your list of circumstances you forgot to list "SC receivers running wide open all night". I think that played as big a part in your loss as anything.

4 straight in 5 years?

"They don't think Hurd is good. They keep referring to him as a "bust" for UT. "

The kid has played a grand total of three games. Bust? Yea, Right.

But that also sounds like some of our so called fans also.

Lulz - math kills.

Thanks for jumping in late since you hardly get the point. But yes, the percentage is down over the last 5 years but gosh, considering there were 2 SEC East titles in that, hasn't been a bad stretch .. but you keep doing your maff and thinking it makes a point though ok?

Honest question. When is the last time you would consider tennessee to be relevant?

It's hard to be mad at UGA fans. They've been also runs for so long they have special slide shows to showcase why it's good.

Someone should go tell them...

You're gonna beat us... at football? Ah-haha.

We eat pieces of Dawg s*** like you for breakfast.

Showed them.

Pretty spot on analysis IMO. If UT can run the ball and limit yards after contact for UGA's stable of backs they win the game.

The point was that Donnan coached a total of 5 years. During CMR's first 5 years, he had an 8-5 season then 4 STRAIGHT 10+ win seasons.

I remember playing them in the 90s and at halftime, I would be telling the Georgia fans at the game how much they improved from the year before, just to give them hope I wonder if they do that to me 20 years later.:)

Pretty contradictory statements.

Well yeah I was pointing out the "Worley will carve us up" post because it was the first thing I saw. Not saying that's everyone's opinion. The general score predictions do have us scoring low.

As for the line, you can think you are going to steamroll a team but still say 19 points is a huge line. That's a big risk by betters because that is a lot of points to cover. 19 points is Vegas's way of saying this will be a blowout. Even those that think it will be a blowout are still surprised that vegas is willing to set the line that high.

Good question too .. if I remember correctly, I felt they quick fired Fulmer. He had a couple of bad years and out he went but before that, I never felt confident when we had to play a Fulmer team. I would say to answer the question, 2007ish

LOL, hope was all we had back then. There are a lot of positives to pull from UT this year and it has to be done from the lines out. Their OL and DL got torn apart in the offseason and that's hard to recover from .. at least this year it is. Great skill players but, my opinion, the best RB from your class last year is not Paulk or Hurd, it was Derrell Scott
