'24 MS DL Kamarion Franklin (Ole Miss commit)

Yeah I think every school cheats/cheated but some took it to another level. Bama was obviously was one as there were reports from past players saying how they made more at Bama than they did their first year or so in the league.
They were as blatant about it as anyone and thought that they alone should have that "privilege." Double Gauldens to them always.

Pitt also. That run by Hooker in the 4th was a first down
Bullsh!t call, yes; but, I don't count that, because who knows if we would have scored. I KNOW!!! we scored against Ole Miss and Purdue...touchdowns that were taken away from us by a bunch of clownery...touchdowns that win those two games.

Franklin didn't take a visit anywhere this weekend, or is he in Miami? I'm sure it's posted...I can't remember, though...

We also had a TD on a blocked FG called back against Pitt on a questionable call, if memory serves.

Hooker also clearly had us a first down by a whole yard on a third and short inside the 5. Officials marked a laughably bad spot but CJH kept the hurry up on 4th and we didn’t pick it up. While the officials were terrible with the spot, I still put that more on CJH as a learning moment. Review it next time.

that's been the thing with Heuple. Definitely not perfect, but the first coach in a long long time, that actually seems to address our issues year to year. Even when we had winning seasons you saw the same issues. we definitely got better on short yardage, and being able to milk some clock and still get points, as well as some improvements on defense.

Even though the ROI won't be as big this season with regards to wins, I would love to see us address some of our issues from last year, to set up for 2024. mostly defense, hard to find too many issues with the #1 offense.

Why would you write off 2023? Can easily have as good of a season or better.

I didn’t read that as writing it off. Just saying 2023 won’t be quite as productive as last year. That’s fair to say. I am a huge Milton supporter but let’s face it. He has gargantuan shoes to fill taking over for Hooker. Squirrel has just as big shoes to fill being the speedster to replace Hyatt. And probably the biggest shoes are the RT position. I disagree we can just easily have a good or better year than last year. Can we? Yes. But it will be far from easy imo.

Now having said all of that, there is one scenario that could change all of that. If, and I mean IF, Milton puts it all together and plays to his potential. If that happens and we get lucky with players staying healthy, we could very well see our first SEc title in forever.

Well he straight up said the return on investment won't be as high as it will in 24

Which has been an odd sentiment several people have. Especially since we are deeper and more talented this year. We will lose a ton of production after this year and we have no idea who will be starting at several spots in 24.

It will take some time for people to get comfortable with the idea that success is the result of planning and development from a competent coach and not a flash in the pan from a few exceptional players. Reload rather than rebuild.

Run game was really good. Averaged 5.0 a carry and I’m pretty sure that’s with sacks included.
Almost 1/3 of that was Hendon (569 yards gained vs 139 yds lost). I could easily be wrong, but I don't see Joe running wild like that. So what I meant is that I hope the Rbs will step up and fill the void.

I'm hoping one of them (dont care if its Wright, Small, or Sampson) has a breakout year and ends up over 1000 yards. Wright was only 108 yards away last year with Small getting a few more carries. That leaves Small and Sampson to get the other 1500ish yards. Maybe Seldon can get 400ish too.

It would benefit Joe and the passing game greatly if the running game took off and take a lot of pressure off the O.

I think we need to run more intermediate crossing routes too. Squirrel and Seldon both have the abilities to turn a mesh route into a TD. Thornton and Squirrel also have the straightline speed to run shallow stings. Joe also seems to be more comfortable with those throws compared to vertical routes. It also doesn’t require the OL to pass protect quite as long. Hopefully we don’t see much of a drop off in OL play, but it’s likely inevitable considering we lost the best OT in the SEC last year and perhaps the entire country

When is Danny White going to wise up and fire Heupel so he can hire the great BelieveTheHeup93 as our new head coach? I don’t know how we thought things were going to work with the crew we have. They obviously don’t know crap.

What makes air raid teams great is also what makes our offense great. Doing few things well. Leach would famously ask coaches when they’d make a suggestion like you just did “great, now tell me what play you want to get rid of?”

Our offense is great, because we don’t do everything. The more things we try to do, the more we lose what makes our offense special
