Heupel isn’t as set in his ways as people think. It’s looked a little different every year he’s been a HC or play caller. He builds his offense around his personnel’s talent. Which is a little different than what Leach did. Just look at how our offense changed throughout his first season. The offense we ran at the end of 2021 was different than what we were running when Joe was starting
Again I have to question if you played a down of competitive football above the 8th grade.

Heupel like every other coach worth a dime has his base system. He may adjust to specific talent strengths but that is almost exclusively what is emphasized within the system... not changes to the actual system. The "ideal" which we haven't seen yet is when a guy recruits to his system and players grow up within that system.

We didn't see "different" last fall. We simply saw "more". Whereas they were probably about 70% installed in 2021... they were close to 100% in 2022. The HS program in my hometown has had success over the years above the talent available. One of the things they did many years ago was teach the coach of the 7-9 team how to run the basic offense. Then every coach as they grow up adds something else from the play book. ByHS, they don't have to teach the base O and can open the playbook while focusing on execution.

There are times when a coach may make a fundamental playbook change. Those are not changes taken lightly and will always occur after one season and before the next. Saban did it and got away with it. Most coaches don't. Execution is MUCH more important than being complex or even up with the times.

I agree with most of what you said but Not sure I agree with your 100%. We get a stud TE and oh boy …..9BA12946-4562-4B27-A32C-36C103596E06.gif

I loved what they did with Fant.

But again, the concepts and plays are already in the playbook if they get a TE with elite playmaking skills. Heupel can and has run his O through a QB, WR, RB, TE, or Slot.

I'm not sure how Miami, other than money, can compete with any major program in selling their football program. Stadium isn't on campus and it's about 30-45 min drive and only half full at that. Game day atmosphere between us and them isn't in the same league. I may have orange colored glasses, but some of that has to be worth a lot more. I mean you can go to the stadium via "vol walk' and be surrounded by 100k fans or take a bus ride to half empty stadium. Not much choice that I see but money has a way of talking. Add in being in SEC and coached by CRG, priceless!!
Go Vols!!

What 18-22 year old wouldn’t want to live in coral gables and receive the financial compensation to afford it for 3-4 years?

Interpretation... you are clueless and cannot handle facts or reason.

You really need to take a look around. Most people here see you as a blowhard. You speak "authoritatively"... out of ignorance.
