Just praying to not be in Duke’s region. I know it’s not logistically possible, but I’d even be okay with going to Auburn’s region. I know it will be Duke or Houston though.
I watched the first ten minutes of Houston yesterday and those guys could shoot to say their lives…they eventually scored but both teams were just awful shooting…maybe they were just having a bad game but they were badlol. It’s either Duke or Houston for us. And I’m praying it’s Duke. People overrate Duke way too much. I don’t understand why people are gassing Duke so much from a 1-2 horse ACC

Duke and Houston aren’t the overall 1 and 2. Auburn and Duke are, then Houston and Florida in either order at 3/4. We will be #5 overall. If Duke and Houston remain the overall 1 and 2 and Auburn and Florida take the 3 and 4 slots, I would be happy with us being at 7 and Bama being at 8…if we play Auburn or Florida again, it should be in the final 4.
Because Duke has a more well-rounded team and a true bonafide generational talent leading them. I think they are actually better than they get credit for because of how historically weak the ACC is. Houston is a great team but I think they are due for a slip up could get bounced before the E8.
I doubt Auburn is #2…they were ranked #3 going into the tournament. St John’s was ranked 5th going in and won their tournament so there’s a good chance they stay at #5…we’ll know in a couple of hoursDuke and Houston aren’t the overall 1 and 2. lmao lunardi dropped us again…

Cooper Flagg could easily tweak his ankle in the first weekend and cause Duke some issues before taking in their opponent as a factor. Regardless, Duke’s roster is nothing that Tennessee should be worried about. They don’t have a roster that comes anywhere close to the Auburn’s or Florida’s we have played 5 games against.

I mean Duke DID beat Auburn in December. I think it’s a bit unfair to say their roster isn’t anywhere close to Auburn or Florida. Their roster is just different. Auburn and Florida are old, veteran teams. Duke is young and flush with 5-star lottery pick talent. I’m not sure how much you’ve watched Duke this year, but they are extremely good. Flagg may not be healthy, but if he turns out to be fine I think outside of Florida they are the team I’d want to see the least in an E8/F4.
I agree with this. They are a much more talented team (so are the Vols) than the matchup we faced in the 2023 tourney, but playing against physicality is still an issue for them.I think Duke is a good matchup for Tennessee. I know Flagg is also a tall man, but you've got the one guy in all of college basketball I'd want to guard him.
In December. I’m sorry but December wasn’t even mid season play.
Completely different teams now. Duke has feasted on nobodies for much of their ACC season and ran i to trouble vs Clemson who also had physical front court.
This notion that Duke is some juggernaut is nonsensical. They would have 3-4 more losses at minimum if this team played in the SEC.
But be scared of them even thought it would take 3 rounds of games for us to even get to play them assuming they won all 3.
Are you talking about the AP poll? If so that has nothing to do with the bracket. Auburn should be the #1 overall seed, with Duke, Houston, and Florida at 2, 3, 4 overall. The Selection Committee rankings are all that matters.I doubt Auburn is #2…they were ranked #3 going into the tournament.
