2025 Seed Watch Party Thread

The Louisville team that went 18-2 in the league and played in the ACC title game got swept by the SEC in 4 games, including a loss to 12th place Oklahoma. Tennessee and Ole Miss destroyed them. Duke is good but not a juggernaut and to me they are the 4th of the #1 seeds. With Flagg having an uncertain status they probably shouldn't be a 1 seed.

In all fairness. Louisville’s SEC losses were between Nov 9-Dec 3. Much different team now. They led Duke by 5 at the half last night and went toe to toe with them for 3/4 of the game. They’ll likely be a 6 seed and it wouldn’t surprise me to see them in the Sweet 16.

I think Duke is a good matchup for Tennessee. I know Flagg is also a tall man, but you've got the one guy in all of college basketball I'd want to guard him.
Agree. I don’t see why folks want to avoid Duke so much. They’re very good. But they’re not Florida or Auburn or even Houston, IMO.

Just taking a stab but I’ll say we’re in the Midwest with #1 Houston, #3 Wisconsin, and #4 Texas A&M.

Are you talking about the AP poll? If so that has nothing to do with the bracket. Auburn should be the #1 overall seed, with Duke, Houston, and Florida at 2, 3, 4 overall. The Selection Committee rankings are all that matters.
Well see if the ranking from a month ago stay unchanged…

edit…and they might - never know with committees. But Auburn is 5-3 since that was released and are 1-3 against ranked teams…

my hope is that we get the #2 in Houston’s or Duke’s regional

Who would that be? Surely you're not suggesting Mashack draw the task? Okpara would be on the bench with fouls inside of the 5 minute mark. No, I'd like to avoid the superstar that will get all the zebra love. We might lose to Houston, but at least we'd get to go down swinging and playing our brand of basketball.

Would take this (final guess from a highly ranked "bracketologist") in a heartbeat.

Agree. That would be a great draw. Probably a dream draw.

We have to be in Houston or Duke’s region because we can’t be a #2 in Auburn or Florida’s.

I want to see the Vols play in the NCAA tournament. And the only way for that to happen is if we get Lexington. They better not put Alabama ahead of us and send us to Cleveland.

This. This times a thousand. I wouldn't want Tennessee to deal with the "Duke magic" until they absolutely have to. I don't want face the "superstar who gets different rules than the rest of the players" treatment, I don't want any of that. We just went through that with Edey last year. It sucks. Thanks but no thanks. Save that kind of nonsense for the Final Four, where all bets are off and anything really can happen.

Something tells me we'll be the sacrificial lamb this year.....again.
