Nice game by ETSU. They played their hearts out. Lot of E Tn locals on that team. Probably goes up dreaming of playing for the Vols. Nice to see those boys have some success.

Unlike others on the board, if we were gonna lose, I'd just as soon it be to them as to an SEC team.

I was legitimately worried when I saw that they replaced Clark with a pinch runner in the 9th. I started scanning the roster trying to guess who they would let bat for him in the lineup.

Newstrom is similar to a future prospect and rated close or better than Clark being recruited.. Everything is all good

Absolutely. I’ve never put much stock in mid week games. Yeah, it sucks to lose them. But, you don’t have your weekend rotation throwing, and it’s a good time to still experiment with line up changes and that sort of thing. I didn’t get to watch this game (just been following the thread), so I don’t know exactly what happened. But, it’s absolutely not time to even remotely be concerned. It’s baseball. You’re simply going to lose games here and there. CTV just needs to keep their heads straight, and head into Bama playing like you did this past weekend. It’s all good Vols!

I don't see us losing to Florida this weekend. The Gators are rebuilding just as much- or not more, than the Vols are and they are off to yet another mediocre start like 2024 with a less talented team.

Baseball is a funny game

If I were to take a shot, I predict game #2 at Alabama but watch that Wednesday game against ETSU. That school seemingly sells their soul every season for a win at UT and this is a far better team than ETSU has had in a long time. They have no bad losses. They swept a rebuilding NKU opening weekend. Took 2 of 3 from Miami. Should have beaten VaTech midweek and beat Pitt 2/3 this weekend in JC losing the first game in extra innings.

The Bucs play UGA on Tues and coast against Longwood at home

Look for ETSU to play in Knoxville regional in the end of May

Nobody here is near as upset as you make it. We understand its baseball and its not a big deal. With that said you still should win a game you lead by two entering the 9th, have 1 out and an 0-2 count
