I will say it’s pretty crazy we won 20 games in a row and it took miracle 9th and 10th inning bombs and miraculous 9th and 10th inning catches by outfielders for us to finally drop a game. Felt a lot like the Evansville Super Regional game we lost. Just felt like no matter what we did they were going to win this game according to the baseball gods. happens, move on and get ready for a formidable Alabama team that will be licking their chops to take us down.

Remember that loss to Lipscomb last year that ruined our season? Yeah, I don't think so.

It was the Tenn Tech wooden bats game for me. Admittedly, I am still a little salty about that one lol.

They were also 37th in RPI. They jumped all the way to 28th after that win and we are still 1st. That team will win a regional if they get a good matchup.

But being up here in the TRI, all the overnight baseball fans will come out of the woodwork and I will get to hear all about this for the rest of the season. That’s the part that stinks.

Southern Miss beats Ole Miss 6-2 and no I am not comparing USM with ETSU.

I know the sports are different but Ole Miss is currently 28th in NET in basketball so us losing to ETSU tonight was about the equivalent to losing to Ole Miss in basketball. Not a bad loss by any means.

Southern Miss is 59th in RPI so that’s a worse loss for them.

Watching Tony V over the years I’m sure he wasn’t pleasant following the loss. He is sometimes aggravated after a midweek win if the Vols don’t perform up to their standards.

And I’m not making this loss a big deal - just saying that I’d bet Tony V wasn’t happy with his team tonight
