2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

I will admit I was very skeptical and nervous that Barnes wasn’t going to be able to put together a elite team. He has honestly exceeded my expectations and I’ll gladly eat crow and y’all can roast me. I didn’t think he could/would adapt to a more offense first mentality. Once again, he did that and THEN SOME. I promise not to freak out again…until next year.

Jk but Go Vols!!! 🍊 Barnes is the 🐐

I see a lot of people on X finding ways to downplay our roster now. People saying Haralson can’t play the 4 while bringing up all these analytics on his rebounding. Also that teams with 2 bigs will destroy us and I just don’t see it. Haralson is more than capable of playing the 4 just like JJJ. If we need to go big, we put Lue or Brown at the 4. It’s just funny seeing how good of a roster we built and now everyone is scared and finding ways to pick the roster apart.

He's cringing just trying to give any compliment. "I think Tennessee is top 20, they have to be. Ugh. I love Terrance Hill, but..."
He's a goon.
Who cares? It’s people with opinions, why do we need them to glaze Tennessee? I don’t like Goodman, so I don’t care about what he says. The one thing I think is silly that Goodman says is his suggestion that Hill didn’t know Juke was probably coming too. He knew.

Now the fun of projecting...

This year we saw 4 players get 26 or more mpg, with Ja'Kobi being at 35

So 200mpg (5 x 40)

Hill - 28
Juke - 28
Haralson - 22
Rubin - 22
Lundblade - 24
Ames - 24
Brown - 20
Lue - 18

Leaves about 14 mpg to spread out among freshmen. I think Hill and Juke will play the most, think Ames and Lundblade will be next since each can play a few different spots...then a pretty even distribution among the 4 bigs depending on matchups/hot hands etc.
Haralson could sneakily be in line for a lot of minutes given probably a freshmen is his backup unless go big with Brown at 4. On3 guys seem to favor Brown over Rubin as starter which would be interesting. I think with this team Brown could find minutes at 5 and 4 depending on size needs.

I know you are sort of stuck on that opinion with regard to post play, but can't you admit that our vast improvement in the amount of shooters and ball-handlers (skilled perimeter players) presents a net positive in total roster turnover in spite of what potentially might be a dip in post production?

We lost 12 games last year with those guys; the most losses in 7 years.
To me, JG, Boswell and Nate were a very strong 1-3. This new group with the addition of Juke appears to be at least their equal. Aimes and Lundblade are a vast improvement on our wing depth. I would still prefer our 3 departing posts to the current 3 on the roster but as the season plays out I may well be proven wrong. JMO and I can accept that it may be a minority position and respect the opposing view.
