How does Meyer stepping down effect UT recruiting?

FSU has to be loving this right now. No Head Coaches at The U or UF. They have to be licking their chops.

Everyone on Floridas message board keeps saying mullens but mullens has already said he wants to stay at miss st for a long time...i mean i know that does not mean much

Mullen may lose some prospects that are interested and have decisions fairly soon.... but in my opinion Mullen won't lose recruits.... why would he?

Meyer to Denver would be terrible for Orton

no way Denver would sign Meyer. After the Josh McDaniels Experiment was such a failure, Denver will sign a coach with experience. Like Gruden, Cowher, or if the Titans do something stupid, Jeff Fisher. I'd say Gruden would take this job, but ultimately wants the 49ers or Chargers jobs, if they fire Singletary and Turner.

Oh well, I don't feel bad at all.
+1. I don't usually hold anything against a kid but the way he slobbered all over himself when UF offered when we had been with him the whole time when he was underrated just rubbed me the wrong way. Taylor just seemed to think UT was a second rate program compared to UF.

I doubt it affects much at all. They'll end up with Mullen or someone else that will keep most if not all this class intact. May see a few transfer out though, as a lot of them didn't sign up to play for someone other than Meyer. There are always a few that don't like things when a new coach comes in.

I like Worley, but a call to Jeff Driskell would not displease me in the least bit.

Also would like calls to Blakely, All DT's, LB's, and DB's...

If for some reason Mullen has a moment of insanity and stays, does Charlie Strong get the job?

Let the games begin:

I hope all of you people realize what we have just lost! Meyer was probably the best coach we will ever have! And the news gets worse - from a friend of his family, Driskell will not be coming to UF, due to Meyer leaving and all the turmoil! This guy has been correct every time! I can't say that I blame him and I wouldn't blame any coach that turned down the opportunity! We have fans that expect way too much and it's going to be the reason our program is about to nose dive! The only salvation, with Driskell, is Dan Mullen, but, he has been here and knows the expectations are unrealistic! Don't be shocked to see Driskell wearing garnet and gold! I am pissed!

I honestly don't think there is going to be much turnover. Florida should get a big name coach here soon, and he will catch up with the recruiting. That being said, Florida could mess this up.

Not much. I think Dan Mullen steps right in and nothing changes. Unfortunately, Florida is still Florida and there will not be a big change in style or staff.

Are you old enough to know Floridas football past?

Florida has only been relevant the last 2 decades

I am still laughing at Corey Miller's comments on Meyer stepping down. "L8er Urban...it's been real" lmao.

I completely understand that UF has only really been relevant since Spurrier came in but I understand what he was saying. UF isn't going away. They still have one of the highest financial budgets, big stadium, great facilities and they are right in the middle of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country. A season like this year will be the worst thing that will happen to them. Even Zook's worst year was 7-5.
