The Kentucky game was JGs best game...followed by SC. We were never in it against LSU. We had Jack Jones and Venzell Boulware available. By the time McBride got his one offing, it was Brooks and next available walk-on time.
McBride played ONE. So odd brag. If we graded JG for one game would that be sufficient?
And Vols4us added: "5-10 lbs. on JG's frame will be about all we can expect without some serious deer antler spray. He's not a big boned, big framed guy.
The competition at the position is what is so important. Having two QB's that can at least manage games well and make a play now and then would help a lot."
I just want to point out, y'all might want to update your info by seeing the thread about Vols take the polar plunge challenge ... JG does appear to have been bulking up and chiseling. Just sayin. :hi:
McBride played 2 games. JG came back and played the next 2 games. I wasn't commenting on anything other than yer point about the ol. You said McBride had a worse ol when he played which wasn't true for the last 2 games. I don't think either can be judged based on it. I just think that part of yer point wasn't as valid as the part about the difference between true and redshirt freshman.
Were talking STARTS man. McBride didnt play the last two games, so our whole narrative on him is his mop up action against Southern Miss and the Mizzou game. You cant discount how the state of the OL affected his FIRST EVER action as compared to JGs. Its all valid.
Okay so this is a very pointless argument where we are both stating that you can't judge him yet. I guess because JG played 5 games before the ol was completely injured he was unaffected playing behind 4 walk on ol in the last 2 games is the point you are clinging to for some reason. Have it. I'm bored with this circular debate about nothing at all. Even though I did start it. Hahaha

McBride didnt have to get hit by Bama 19 times either. People will say he shouldve gotten rid of the ball but most times there was no where to go with those garbage route concepts.
Graduate transfer quarterback Keller Chryst of Palo Alto, California has committed to Tennessee and head coach Jeremy Pruitt. Chryst arrives at a critical time for Pruitt and the Vols coaching staff as they try to establish competition and depth at a very thin quarterback position. Chryst previously played three seasons at Stanford starting 13 games and appearing in 23. Hes passed for 1901 yards, 19 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Chryst visited Tennessee last weekend and told GoVols247 after the visit that Tennessee had everything that Im looking for. Chryst seems to present new offensive coordinator Tyson Helton what hes looking for as well as we expect to see a more pro-style approach from the Vols in 2018.
According to the 247Sports rankings Chryst was a four-star prospect and the no. 3 ranked pro-style quarterback in the 2014 class. As a graduate transfer he will be eligible to play for Tennessee this season and many believe hell immediately be right in the mix to start from day one.
