Rusty Mansell, covers GA on 247, on the Berry twins:

“When you talk about the word ‘tweener,’ both of them right now would be considered tweeners. Don’t really know what position they can play,” Mansell said. “The bottom line is that both kids can run, and both kids will strike you, so you find a place for those guys to where they’re going to help your team the most and you plug them in.

“Physically, their play on the field is there. You’ve just got to find out what’s the best fit for you and your system with those two. ... They’ve got a little something about them, and you know, with the bloodline they’ve got, that somewhere along the line they’re going to find the right place for them. But you never, ever, ever can have enough kids that can run.

“I’ll say this: Tennessee is a better football team with them than without them, because they’ll find a place for those kids to produce.”

Mansell, 247, on Elliot specifically:

“Evan’s probably the more pure athlete, but Elliott, when you watch him, the first thing that stands out is he’s a really good tackler,” Mansell said. “He’s able to make plays in space. He’s going to have to put on a little bit more size, and he’ll probably play in the box more than he’s played in high school, so he’ll be taking on linemen and stuff like that, so you’ll see how he adjusts there.

How different are Elliot Berry and JRM as seniors in HS? Mansell is pretty much on point, in general, when stating both can run and tackle. They're just good athletes. They'll be able to make plays for us, which is something we need BADLY.

@YouUglyBruh: I think it's time to let twitter go.

@UTSlick_Rick and @Sabanocchio discussing recruits on twitter. SMDH!

Dear God, does this guy ever not embarrass us?

Highlights impressed immensely. I think he is cut from the same mold as Eric. Westmoreland not Berry. Great instincts. I had been thinking that Elliott was just who we had to take to get Evan...Wrong!

A lot of people have thought that. This kids a player just like his brothers. I think he's going to grow into being a very fast OLB.

Getting athletes like this who TACKLE in space will go a long way toward improving our defense. When you look at the current 2 deep on defense, we need these kind of athletes.

If Elliot could put on 20-25 lbs. and still run a 4.46 40 he would be a fantastic OLB. Not sure he could keep that speed at that weight but being able to tackle and run down RB's on the outside will be a major help for the defense. Our defense needs his speed.

Don't care what anyone says. This kid is a baller. If he didn't play out of position his first 3 years on dline then everyone wouldn't be under rating him. I personally want him to try running back first

As Mansell says, "He tackles in space" . As you saw yesterday and really the last 3 games. We don't tackle people in space.

How many times does the 1st UT defender miss? On the
other hand , how many times does the 1st tackler take
down our player?

Need more athletes like this on defense.
