’14 GA ATH Elliott Berry (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Because their recruitment was low key, I did not know quite what to think about Elliot and Evan Berry. Now that they are committed, I can say that having them on board gives me a very good feeling about this class being extra solid with the right stuff. I love this legacy class, and I am so glad that the Berry brothers are part of it.

Great post wU. I really like these kids and am glad they came here.

Elliott said he wanted to play OLB, do you think he has the size? I know he has the speed but it seems to be a little small for OLB, maybe I am nuts though.

I also liked what they said about Dooley. They were modest about it but I took it as he really didn't recruit them very hard. I have read where Dooley ignored a lot of recruits.

Especially instate kids, smh.

Taken a break a few days from the recruiting forum

So what's the deal with hubbs saying a few legacies may not sign an NLI???

I read some of the other thread but didn't get a feeling for what exactly this means

I'm thinking they may be trying to find a loophole in these new agreement things. So getting a few legacies to sign one could open some extra slots. Reason to use some legacies would be because it only binds the school, less chance a legacy is gonna leave them hanging.

I can see him playing a hybrid role at OLB. Sort of like Brewer just better. He will bring speed at that level and if he's anything like his brother he will have no problem in the run game. I like him at OLB will be a bit undersized but will bring speed. As long as he is able to get to 210+ and is strong he will be fine.

"Elliott Berry rushed for 36 yards on four carries and had 6 tackles with two pressures in a 47-14 win. Next up is Harris County."

Now that his senior highlights are updated with plenty of film of him at linebacker, if the recruiting sites don't bump this guy to 4 stars then it's a joke and all about politics even more than I already think. Kid is so underrated it's not even funny. That speed and acceleration at linebacker is what we are missing

Man I just watched the twins highlights this year.. I'm very excited about them. Can't wait till these boys get on the hill and meet some folks across the middle!! Either they're playing some small guys, or they have a lot more size than I thought they did. And that speed tho!

Bump. This kid can flat out play at OLB from what I got to see last night in the first half (fell asleep afterwards). Another commit that is very underrated. We haven't had his kind of speed and sideline to sideline coverage in a very long time.

I don't see safety for him at all. He will come in as a RB, though, unless we pick up another RB.

I don't think he is a solution at RB. I think he ends up at OLB, but it will take a few years to be a legit player there.

A few years because?
