anyone remember this lol

Eric's little brother, Evan commited to Tennessee, and hes 13 years old!

Apparently he's better than Eric when Eric was 13 so thats pretty exciting, even if Evan will only start playing in 2014!!!

Evan's twin brother is also entering high school but is favoring LSU because of their track team.

(old story just tho was funny commiting at 13)

I see them being in orange be the last two signed to be the cherry on top book it!!

Just curious if anyone else has heard the latest rumor concerning the Berry twins...keep in mind this is a rumor and the only info I have comes from reading and hearing it from a friend who reads another forum that charges...

Apparently, the story goes, there is not much recruiting news surrounding the Berrys because Eric has said the Vols will NOT waste 2 scholarships on these guys because he is going to pay their full way...leaving the Vols with 2 extra scholarships available. Eric loves the Vols so much, that this is the best way he can help the university out in his absence.

Anyone else heard this? Sounds too good to be true to me, and borders on a violation...maybe? I don't know.

Whoops, sorry, went back and saw that this has been going on for quite sometime. Perhaps if I quickly fall on my sword, it will staunch the blood flow...

No Kidding!! EB is NOT gonna pay the way! What will it take for people to quit throwing this out?

EB has a 50M dollar paycheck not counting millions in endorsements. If he throws 200k out to put his little brothers thru school; he still has 49.8M plus millions in endorsements. Quit acting like he is making median income. Of course he would do it in a minute.

I refuse to entertain this possibility. If it happens, I will gladly eat crow. Just as long as those saying they will walk on, also eats crow.

This and the Jalen Hurd playing TE or safety has my upcoming 44th feeling like 60th :snoring:

It appears to me there are only two
Camps here:

1) this is stupid and could never happen.

2) its possible.

I have seen no one say its for sure going to happen.

This is not even worth responding to, but I just can't help it.

1) NFL contracts are not guaranteed. They didn't give him a check for 50 million dollars (or whatever his contract is).

2) The Chiefs could cut him tomorrow and he would get whatever he has been guaranteed (usually a signing bonus and a lower figure as a base). A lot of it is incentive-laden.

3) Ever heard of taxes?

Besides all that, the idea is preposterous. Please, people, for the love of the Vols, leave it alone.

I'm just gonna say this: EB's guaranteed money from his rookie contract was 23 million. If I had 13 million in the bank and two twin brothers with an opportunity to not only provide their education, but also free up scholarships to allow a greater opportunity for on-field success, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

But that's just me.

Hey guys, my bad for firing this up again. If I had done my due diligence I would have read back a few pages I would have discovered this has already been discussed ad infinitum. I will endeavor to prevent making this mistake in the future. I am new here and thought this was about fun speculation and discussion about things regardless of how outlandish they might seem...but I do understand some things get old and worn out and need not be discussed anymore. But I suspect some folks who complain about such things enjoy when they pop up again...mainly so they can toss out a cutting, condescending comment or finally get to use that relevant "Boy Meets World" gif they've been sitting on for sooooooo long. ;)

I am not going to entertain the idea that EB will pay for his brothers. But, EB was drafted before the new collective bargaining agreement when guaranteed money was very high. As the poster above stated, as an early first round pick, he has already made alot of money even if his contract is not guaranteed from here on out. Even though he isn't a QB, I am guessing he makes above average money with endorsements as well.

Just did a little research. EB received 34 million guaranteed and signed a multi-year deal with Adidas when he was drafted. There is also an article that stated that he paid for 70 new uniforms and other apparel for his high school after he signed his contract.

I sure hope the family that worked a second job just to put a family member through college doesnt read this disgusting post. Don't insult all of us that would work multiple jobs to put a family member through school with this garbage

hey guys, i dont post much, but i had this idea.

you know, since eric berry is a true vfl, and loves the vols so much, i bet he wouldn't mind paying for his brothers to come to UT, you know, just as a donation, but for their scholarships. that way, we could get more players. i don't know. what do you think? SIAP
