Ain't nobody got time for dat.
I have to say that I brought the idea of EB paying his brothers' tuition as a joke several months back. I had no idea that it would take on a life of its own. It has been interesting to see all the responses though. I'm to blame for this debacle and you can flame me for it if you like. GO VOLS!!!!!
If he gives to their dad to pay tuition, would their dad have to count that as earned income? If he did, could change his tax bracket. But, I don't know the rules on gifted funds or if that would count as gifted.
First he did get guaranteed money, $34 million on a "$60 million" contract, didn't think that was in dispute. All top draft picks get substantial guaranteed money to different degrees.
Second, I have read numerous posts in here from people advocating that "he has the money" and that not only could he do but should do it to help the program. I think it's stupid and insulting to suggest he should. If he does then fine. But no one should ever approach him about doing so and no fan should criticize him if he doesn't. Think it's a moot point anyway. The twins have earned their schollies IMO.
True, it's interesting to see posters jump on a train as a topic may swing from cool to not cool in the majority's eyes. You ever notice that some never are the first to bash, but are consistently there after it seems generally accepted to do so? Might do some good to remember we're just talkin footballNo one doubts they have earned their schollies. It all started by someone saying if they had tens of millions and could help out their alma mater with two extra schollies, they would. Wouldn't it be cool if EB did that?
I haven't seen anyone saying that EB is stingy if he doesn't, and only one post I've seen has said CBJ should solicit it. 99% of the people who aren't bashing it just like to dream about two extra schollies, yet 99% of the people bashing those dreaming about it are saying how stupid it is to say we should solicit it and people shouldn't be saying EB is stingy for not offering. People just like to bash other people, they don't even read the posts of the people they're bashing.
