‘20 NC SG Jaden Springer (UT commit 10/23/19)

FWIW, Rob on the VQ Podcast said today he thinks Memphis isn't nearly as big of a threat as many want to believe and that a lot of it is just "Memphis homers" trying to convince themselves he'll come.

This just made me laugh out loud.

I know of Memphis homerism really well with the local Memphis media, specifically those that work for 92.9 ESPN in Memphis.

Interesting read. His blurb about Tennessee was rather muted compared to the other two schools. Not that I believe that necessarily means anything bad. It's also funny to see the user poll favor Memphis by about 10% as to his landing location.

I think the Tennessee talk is just a smokescreen. He's never been to Memphis or Michigan so he had a lot to say about them. I believe He knows where he wants to go and wants it to be a 'surprised'

Hmm I didn’t really get that impression (that it was muted compared to the other two).
So am I understanding right that we’re his last official?

Yes we are his last OV. Hopefully Neyland will be rocking for the UGA game that weekend as well.

Jaden has a new blog entry in USA Today High School Sports:

Memphis visit, getting back to 100 percent, DaBaby and more

Like I said, I don't think it was necessarily a bad sign. He just had much less to say about Tennessee. Especially compared to Memphis. But that makes sense, seeing as he just finished a visit there so the facilities & conversation with coaches would be fresh in his mind.

Plus, Keon Johnson and Corey Walker will also be on their visits, so the three of them will have time to hang out together. I think Drew Pember and Jaden were also AAU teammates, so that's another positive aspect.

After his official visit for the Georgia game.
Exactly and he will be a Vol, no doubt in my mind. Then, hopefully PJ Hall, if not I think UT's consolation prize will be Cardwell and a top 3 ranked '20 recruiting class, either way. Maybe even #1 if we get Hall. My secret wet dream is Banchero reclassifying and commiting to UT. That would be, a #1 class and the greatest class in SEC history, not counting Kentucky

Yet something tells me if 100% of predictions from national people were that he was headed to Memphis you’d be telling us all that he’s gone?

I like what SweetDaddy brings to the forum. He has that "NegaVol villan" sort of vibe about him that you can always count on when things start looking positive. :D
