Both Pons and stokes recruitments were wierd

As I recall florida didn’t have a spot for Pons or didn’t really push. Stokes was odd. Maybe there was an issue on that visit or Perhaps sour grapes. Hard to know
VQ alluded to an issue on his OV and then a couple posters here mentioned it also, also never really seemed like the staff was enamored with him anyhow.

Also, off the top of my head both Keon Johnson & Josiah James had Florida offers, so are those losses for them?

Come on BTO you know guys that came to the wire against florida we have lost more than have won. It’s always hard to know who was pushed for and who wasn’t but it’s clear if head to head with florida at the podium we have struggled

Haven't struggled on the court against them, though. Won 3 of the last 4 against them.

No doubt. It’s why recruiting doesn’t really move the needle much for me. I trust this staff knows what’s it doing on the court and developing kids

But in the context of this thread if this is a florida/tenn battle I don’t like our chances

Stokes wasn't a loss. We backed off following his official visit. Same as the French kid this year.

Yea I know that is what most seem to think but as I recall after stokes we went to walker and Kent after a longer period of time passed after the visit. So if we did back off we certainly didn’t have a plan b in place and it took awhile to move on to Kent/walker

That isn't really relevant to the actual topic, though. And FWIW, Kent committed to Tennessee a month before Stokes committed to Florida.

That’s right Kent was the backup to the kid that went to unc

Walker was the backup to stokes

My mistake

Stokes, Walker, and,Kent. What a trio. Kent might be the best of the three.

Corey Walker and Yves Pons were wins, Mann and Blackshear losses.

If you are counting James and Johnson as wins for us not sure how you can count Chase Johnson and Isaiah Stokes losses for us as Tennessee never really pushed for either.

In all seriousness White hasn’t done nearly as well as I expected. I thought he would do much better

They took a step back last year. I’d have them as near favorites in the SEC this year. I’m curious what the AD’s expectations are for their basketball program. If he has a disappointing season, what happens?

He's not defending. He's speaking the truth. I guarantee Florida fans are happy with their basketball program.
They're not, actually. Judging from Twitter reactions I saw last season, they've been frustrated with White. Not enough to want him fired (at least, beyond a small minority), but they aren't "happy" necessarily either.

If he fails to make the tourney this year he easily could be fired imo. His style of play is the most surprising to me. I thought he was going to play a fun to watch up tempo style and he just doesn’t. It’s like watching paint dry watching his games
