Any decent AD, knowing what was going to be discussed would not have let his coach be blindsided. Pearls lie wasn’t some calculated cover up. It was an off the cuff reaction. One he quickly admitted to.

The bump and the other incident were jack ****. Look at LSU. There is no comparison and they circled the wagons, lawyered up and thumbed their nose at the NCAA.

I keep hearing “everyone cheats” and that Duke and these other programs are rolling out the Brinx truck. Yet, Pearl is still being smeared as some horrible guy who, “he knew he was lying?” ********, ********, ********.

Wrong. Dead wrong.

Pearl went into that meeting with the NCAA and when presented with the evidence (picture), he knew he HAD to lie because he had already broken the same rule at Milwaukee. If he admitted to it, then the NCAA ups the charge to more than a minor violation because of his repeat offender status. And then you conveniently ignore the fact that he subsequently calls Aaron Craft's dad immediately afterwards and ask them both to corroborate his fabrication. He only quickly "came clean" once he realized it was a setup by the NCAA, and they already had him dead to rights because the Crafts gave them the evidence. Don't pretend like Bruce Pearl all of a sudden had some moment of conscience and wanted to clear the air. He literally had no choice but to spin it that way.

Mike Hamilton did him no favors in the matter, to be sure. Mike Hamilton should have never been a D1 Athletic Director, to begin with, either. But to try and spin this as anyone else's direct fault but Pearl's is fanboy syndrome at its finest.

Some of you people are as naive as they come when your heart strings get tugged by Pearl talk. Just admit to yourselves that Bruce Pearl is all about Bruce Pearl.

It doesn't sound like it's over. Similar things were said about Banchero and us... and then a few days later, he pulls the trigger for Duke. I'm interested to see how this plays out.

I’m not sure how closely you follow FB recruiting, but these sort of last minute ¢hange$ are quite common when Auburn is involved.

I follow it pretty closely. I'm just trying a different tone today and not trying to accuse people of cheating because we missed on a recruit when I spent most of yesterday accusing Auburn of cheating lol. It just sounded like sour grapes---but it is!

Listened to that podcast that had Branham on, definitely doesn’t sound like a done deal by any means. Said going into this past week he heard UT/UGA, when announcement was made he heard Auburn buzz, but says it could definitely swing before Friday, the guys hosting the podcast said the same as well. With that said, no I don’t expect him to pick Tennessee, just thought I would share the info.

It was long thought to be Auburn and Tennessee, it was the last 4-6 weeks that UGA seemingly got involved, but for over a year Auburn had been our main competition....so maybe nothing happened and people were just over shooting Georgia’s actually chances or perceived momentum? Auburn is a little more than an hour from his house, which his family being able to watch has been an emphasis a few times from people during his recruitment. As we have also seen nationally, with COVID a lot of prospects are electing to stay closer to home and with familiarity. I get losing him to Auburn would suck but at the same time Pearl has put guys into the league and they’ve been a winning program, makes more sense than going to Georgia.

I was just about to listen to that, so thanks for saving me some time. I guess I'll hold out hope for a little longer then. A W over UGA on the ole pigskin field on Saturday would help nullify the sting if we do indeed miss on Smith.

He has good sources now and has accurately implied where a lot of recent recruits were going. He doesn’t like to outright spoil their decisions though so you have to read between the lines. This one seems 60/40 Auburn.

Lol, where was he yesterday? His sources are trash, he copies what he hears elsewhere.
