'09 TN DL Daniel Hood (merged)

Hood doesn't have serious criminal issues. He had one incident where he was a bystander in a horrible situation. He has no other history of any kind of problems.

I think people react to Hood more on the grotesqueness of the situation rather than his role in it. It's 3 years later and he hasn't been in trouble before or since.

Moody I will not speak on because I don't know the details of his history. I know that he had discipline issues that concerned the UGA staff prior to this latest incident with the male teacher, but I do not know what they were.

Oh, and Hood will be a Vol. I think you'll see him walk-on for a period of time and be required to meet certain expectations before a scholarship is a possibility.

Disagree on how people are reacting. He did nothing to stop it, helped hold her down. Hes just as guilty as the other boy, period. And this was not the first incident, it was the second time they had tied down someone but this time it went too far.

Ask yourself this, if you were in that room and it got to the point it did, would you stand there and watch or do absolutely NOTHING to stop it? Something is wrong with that to me.

I will not welcome him and do not support him being here.

Cant wait to see the headline on ESPN, University of Tennessee allows sex offender to walk on Football program. Yea, good stuff.

Those 2 are huge media blow ups. Could back fire that we let go quality people and picked up 2 kids with serious history. Honestly we shouldnt preach wanting the best and then get 2 kids with serious criminal issues.

why do you say serious history?do you have anything that says they have been convicted of anything, have they served any time in jail,or are you going on hearsay and endnuno's.you shouldn't say anything about anybody unless you have actual facts.:swoon3::moon2::bash:

Maybe you need to read this whole thread before you speak.

Hey Head1,

Where were you when Phillip Fulmer gave a scholarship to an 18 year old Jason Respert after he pleaded no contest to sexually asaultimg a Florida coed on a recruiting visit? I think we would all be surprised if we could see the rap sheets on every player in college football

head01,

Maybe you need to get over yourself before you speak. Giving people second chances is not a bad thing. I hope this kid becomes an all american and a good influence for our community just so you can be quiet. He is a good kid that made one dumb decision. There are millions upon millions of teens each year that make dumb decisions even when they are good kids. He has matured and is a good person and would be an awesome addition to the team. Kid loves Tennessee and cares a heck of a lot more about it than you do.

No thanks.

i agree, everyone makes dumb decisions. i made one once. i decided to play baseball in my back yard and ended up hitting my moms window with the ball.....

i didnt allow my cousin to be raped. im not the coach, and i dont make the decisions, obviously, but i just think other recruits' parents might be a little uneasy when they hear about it. and they will hear about it. maybe he isnt in any legal trouble, but there's no taking something like that back.

I'm glad Jesus will be judge and not some of you people

really? c'mon, do we have to bring up religion in the recruiting thread? if were gonna go by the bible, then telling a lie or coveting something or working on a sunday is just as bad as murder.

i won't speak for anyone else, but i would rather be judged by another person. no matter what your religious beliefs are, you can't honestly equate the crime of wanting something thats not yours to the crime of taking a human life. can you?

ok if no one will sign him then why does he still have offers?

So why would he not sign somewhere, for a full ride, somewhere far away from where this happened, than walking on to a school where everyone is going to know what he did?

I just can't see any major schools offering him right away after knowing some of these things. Would the offers happen to be from mid major programs?

I can understand if schools are offering him the chance to walk on for a year and then earn a scholly though.

There isn't anything wrong with basing opinions you have off of religions. If you truly are a christian (christ like) and a believer of the BIBLE, then you abide by it and follow it and one could see how you could form an opinion off of it. And honestly, all that matters is what God thinks (when it comes to judging). A sin is a sin. Period end of discussion. You have to be an idiot to think that on earth that all sin is equal just because the way the earth runs. But in terms of spiritual. A sin is a sin. And Christ died for all of them. We are all sinners and need a savior.

Oh, please leave the preaching out of this thread and this forum. Take it to the Politics board.

All of the programs offered him when he was 17. When he turned 18 his court records became public and the teams found out and stopped recruiting him. volstuff if you actually read this thread you will see there is proof. Just because you are lazy and want to go off 2 pages back doesnt make me wrong. I have read the actual court documents and its pretty sickening what happened. So do research and get back. until then shut up and stop trying to talk trash when your wrong.

religion is fine and dandy but throwing it out there to bait a convo is what upsets those that are trying to talk about stuff. We all know God is a higher power and will be the judge in the after life but that doesn't mean we can't talk about people. Its just opinions. thats that.

Idk if you were referring to me or not but all was doing is defending someone for using religion as a basis for their opinionl...... Then I started preaching. However, nothing wrong dude with using religion as basis for an opinion. I do see what you are saying though in general.

Volstuff quoted me calling me out when he was actually in the absolute wrong. The religion bit was at slovog or what ever his name was just dropping the jesus judges comment.
All in all I believe in second chances but if this kid lived in florida or texas or somewhere else then knoxville this issue would be over along time ago. But since he is a Knoxville boy he stays in the picture.
