'09 TN DL Daniel Hood (merged)

I've read that opinion from a couple of people. Explain that line of thinking to me. Why does it matter if he's on scholarship or not?

Mainly, I think it could send the message that the University has done something exceptional for someone that many don't believe is deserving based on the type of crime (and personal opinion). It could also raise the question of who knows who (and why is he really getting in). It's like the CFB programs that will take problem kids on a regular basis. I don't want UT to have that reputation.

And quite honestly, I really don't want him there under any circumstances (the father in me) but am trying to be "reasonable" and still provide an opportunity for him to move forward. One step at a time as it's earned.

I'll step down off the soap-box now.:)

had a say as to yes or no. What ever our personal feelings, its time they are put aside and accept it.

I agree to a point . . . but it's hard for me to condemn someone forever due to an error in judgment they made at age 13.

So if you made a horrible mistake when you were a child, you'd think that you shouldn't have another chance at any type of success? Get a life.

Its been more than 3 years since i was a Child, and if I did something like that to my own family, I would never even forgive myself.

I cant get over how people say, he made a mistake, like it was just a normal little incident and he was a bad boy now give him a free pass at life. He did the unthinkable and should not be given a free pass to anything, get out from behind your pew and use common sense.

If the kid stole something, beat someone up, bleh, he raped his freakin cousin, how can people just look past that? And dont give me the bystander or he was influenced by a bad guy, hes freakin huge, he could have stopped it, he didnt, he was as much at fault as the other kid, period.

So, he should have every opportunity taken away from him?
