'09 TN DL Daniel Hood (merged)

calm down buddy. This happened a lil while ago. He has a 3.8 GPA and hasnt got in trouble since then. If it happened recently, I wouldnt want him.

that's the most idiotic thing i have ever heard...so you don't care about rape as long as it happened a few years ago...that is the most despicable crime imaginable and my disgust at anyone who participates in it has no expiration date.

I'm actually not angry, but I do believe this is a collosel mistake that is going to hurt us badly in image thus effect recruiting.

BTW it is now being called plungergate around the SEC and those silly fans have all kinds of great things to keep this in the spotlight for years. I think a Mormon QB might be rethinking life right now.

People who have different opinions than you doesn't mean they are wrong. There isn't anything anyone can do about it right now.

Sure there is. I have said it multiple times create a scholly for the cousin who got raped and I would let it go (still wouldn't like him). Hell I will donate a good amount to it.

I am with ya. I still hate it for what he did. I always will. But ONLY since he hasnt done anything over the past 4+ years I am willing to give him a second chance. 1 mess up and he is gone.

The cool thing is, we don't have to give him a chance we have nothing to do with it. But I do believe this is going to hurt UT in the long run.

Allegedly the cousin wrote to UT to ask to let him into school. Seems like she has forgiven him. I don't think this will hurt us in the long run.

I can see it both ways

1. He comes here messes up and gets kicked off. UT learns its lesson. This may hurt us in recruiting too.

2. He comes here and doesnt get in trouble. Kiffin is praised for giving the kid a second chance.

I just hope its true. I also think that us having a dire need for OL helped Hood here too.

Again I call BS, no one has any proof of her saying she forgave him or wrote a letter on his behalf.

WTF, I can start a rumor too! She called Rivals and got him a higher rating.

Actually I lied, I am extremely pi$$ed about this.

Do you think that we should not recruit anyone with a previous rap sheet? You would probably be surprised at the number of kids that would not qualify to play college football under those rules.

And why would a Mormon QB rethink his life when the world is a mix of people at Washington and other schools that have the same kind of issues that is here at UT. In fact, I would "suspect" that we may have fewer issues that some west coast schools. People who are afraid of what they may encounter in the world tend to become paranoid and have personal issues. If the kid is religiously narrow-minded then his only choice for a college is BYU, but if he goes there he will be playing against schools and players that are not as unique. You can not shelter yourself in this country.

if you feel that strongly, how are you going to deal with the University of Tennessee having a "participant" on it's team?

I guess NYCvol was lying when he said that she came out in defense of Daniel...

This is not a troubled kid we are talking about here. It is a kid that was coerced into participating in something he had no idea what to do about. I really don't get all the fuss over this to be honest. Young kid - big mistake, but his life shouldn't be over because of it. Watch and see. This kid will end up doing nothing but good for the university. He's been given an opportunity to live his dream and seems earnestly thankful for that.

Great post for a 12 year old who just watched Dr. Phil and now thinks they know about life's hard lessons. Go watch Oprah and tell us what you learned next.

Too bad you did not perceive it as so. I just thought that you may have an answer, but I guess not.

My job in life is to try and predict every possible outcome for future events, If you two guys and Sab think I am being over the top we will see. The next couple of weeks will tell us the most but the first look isn't good.

You never know I may change my tune if things go differently but I don't think you guys are thinking long term here.

Your laughable at best.
