It is curious. I think there are likely multiple factors at play. Older generations are probably more conservative in reporting even with a more open society. Also, Gen X (my gen) has also been impacted by AIDS. There were simply fewer of us around when this polling began.
I think as GenX we are free thinkers.. and the crowd is saying ‘yes, this stuff is positive’ and some of us are like ehhh..lol… I don’t just support things because everyone else says to do it lol especially if some of it I am pretty sure is not right

Fauci's original misinformation campaign to pursue questionable "medical" agenda.

Yep they claim it’s because of “greater acceptance”.
The also claim trans suicide rates are high “because they’re not accepted”.
If these two things were true, suicide rates would drop. Obviously they’re lying to us

They are not being honest with themselves.

Another fallout from this will be staggeringly low birth rates, which will have far reaching ramifications.

That’s also a problem even if that’s the cause. Shouldn’t we be concerned, or disturbed, that kids think faking a mental illness that leads to medical mutilation and sterilization is worth it for the attention?

Your characterization not mine. But in any event I cannot be the only one who detects a bit of this being a fad, maybe even a running group joke by some.

My brother is a HS history teacher. Told me there’s a femboy who dresses like a cat every day in one of his classes. He’s forced by admin to address him as a she.

I’m glad I never went through with teaching after I got my history degree. I couldn’t do it.

Imagine how the cats feel.

A certain amount of bullying is good. Obviously, it can go to far, but to have a zero tolerance for bullying is just as bad or worse. Males need a certain amount of bullying from their peer group.
depends on what you mean by bullying. Calling someone out on their bs, to the point of ostracization if necessary, sure. joking with them about what dumb thing they just did, sure. belittling them as a person through physical or verbal exchanges, no.

We could have a long conversation about the catastrophe which was our AIDS response. So many mistakes by so many parties. It was a horrific tragedy.
agreed. and I certainly don't know many of the points/specifics to talk very long, but would be willing to listen.

I came out in 1992. It was such a surreal period. The juxtaposition of personal acceptance into a community in the teeth of a deadly pandemic is difficult to qualify.

I might start a thread at some point.

When you come to school dressed as an effing girl or a damn cat, you should face a heavy amount of ostracism and maybe a little belittling if it continues.

So Drs. Gates and Fauci can secure from their population General Quarters as this will take care of itself...

Absolutely agree. Just because someone wants to play pretend doesn't mean everyone else has to go along with it, or should go along with it.

Some damn confused kids. Damn I liked women from the get go and don’t remember any other way or the slightest confusion at any moment on that subject.

Same, I'm GenX, so evidently I'm normal to my peers and the older generations, and probably a bigot to the younger folks.

Remember 30 years ago when it was observed that Anorexia was moving through young female peer groups at alarming rates?

I have two Gen Zs.. they are both straight, but it is very trendy to be anything different now lol.. it gets you a ton of attention.. pansexuals, kids who think they are cats.. I’ve heard it all

I have a friend who's daughter played high school basketball and she just finished her senior year. She was scared to death because many of the girls seem to have at least bi tendencies.

This is interesting for any number of reasons. Most interesting would be if there are biological changes that are a cause.

Somebody pointed out that we started seeing a lot more left-handedness after people stopped thinking it was devilry. I think sexuality has always been a spectrum, but we just suppressed the "abnormal" and no matter where you were on the spectrum, you pretty much needed to decide if you were going to be a totally straight person or be a gay person (unhappily closeted or alienated but out of the closet).

I think the younger generation is far more comfortable accepting that sexuality is a spectrum. Kids will say they are Q probably because it gets them attention, but also because they really are open and it can simply be an admission that they don't know what they are yet.

Left handedness is devilry. Left handed red heads a pure evil.
