I'm genuinely curious if folks believe it's possible to turn someone gay. I definitely believe sexuality sits on a scale, but do not believe one can be influenced in a way which moves one's position on the scale.

No, I was saying I see more men today claiming bisexuality than men did 20 years ago.

Way more women admit to bisexuality than men. A point for which I am thankful.

I would guess experiences have to have something to do with it, but I am doubtful it moves people along the spectrum in extreme ways, save for outliers, which always exist.

No, I would probably disagree that this issue is special. Kids are impressionable about all sorts of things. But I believe its Being encouraged. It should never be discouraged, but there’s something to these number.

We agree that kids shouldn't be directed on these matters, and of course some of that is happening. Where does that leave us?...where we were 10 years ago. And 20 years ago. When people were also directing children on these matters.

It's an issue that will exist regardless of the climate. I think the solution is just education about it. Sometimes info campaigns do work (like the truth Tobacco campaigns) and they aren't invasive. Any other solution is going to be invasive and the medicine is worse than the disease.

I think that thinking you are a cat should definitely be discouraged 😂 and appreciating what you are as God made you should be encouraged.. the rest is up for debate.. the girls across the street (we moved because of it).. thought they were bisexual, then lesbian, then pansexual.. who knows what they are now..I don’t care because I don’t have to deal with their crazy asses any more lol.. they tried to convince all of the other little girls in the neighborhood that they were all lesbians and to start cutting on themselves and everybody had to send their kids to therapy (not mine though) 😂 they thought they were losers, and rightly so.. PS that family was from Chicago and they were something else

That’s funny how straight men like that lol.. It’s all fun and games until your lady runs off with Lucinda 😂.. and we’ve had this discussion before, but most lesbians do not look like the ones in the movies, they look closer to Garbage Pail Kids.. some (not all) are not very attractive and can’t get men, and it widens your net..and I can say this as a woman and one who has been around later in life newly discovered lesbians 😂 not knocking them, just being honest

Agree on outliers. I just believe they are a tiny segment.

What I do think is a more open society and exposure likely leads to more acknowledgment of one's position on the scale. I just don't believe it can be moved. We are what we are.

I believe it is possible for one to slowly accept a gay lifestyle if it in turn gives them a social group they can identify with.

This argument will also be used in the acceptance of pedo's. The kid is drawn to older people the adult is drawn to kids, etc. It's not possible for someone to turn pedophile. It's just who they are.
