I don't really care about your illustration. You didn't say anything about accusations before. You wrote that LaMichael James tried to kill his girlfriend. That needed to be corrected.

To answer your question: for the brief segment in time when the information available incorrectly showed that LaMichael James strangled his girlfriend, it was ok to run with it. However, the information available does not show that any more.

Currently, it is fair game to conclude that the information available does implicate Cam Newton in some wrong-doing. Between the proven without doubt throwing a stolen lap-top out the window, reports of cheating in school and quotes of knowledge of the pay-for-play deal, it's not unreasonable to think that he is guilty.

To think that LaMichael James choked out his girlfriend, at this point in time, is simply ignorance of the facts. See the difference?

So you're hypocrite? It's ok to admit it man.

Wait. So STRANGULATION isn't choking out/trying to kill a girlfriend. But having no evidence to FIND cam newton guilty of wrongdoing is ROCK SOLID?

I have always pulled for an SEC team, but this year just too much bad stuff about the whole $cam newton thing. Don't like pac 10, but wish it could have been anybody but auburn, just see them as a bought team with a one and done qb, and I don't think anybody really thinks $cam didn't know his dad was asking for money. Just too many things about this not right. Always loved those green uniforms so for first time will have to be against sec winning nc.

Oregon will be like last year. That high scoring PAC-10 offense only scored 17 points in a bowl game. The PAC-10 is a shell of a conference right now.

The 2010 Ducks are not equal to the 2009 Ducks. OSU's defense in '09 is also much better than Auburn's.

You are both being hypocritical. The NCAA has ruled that Cam Newton has done nothing worthy of being suspended. The legal system says that LaMichael James didn't strangle his girlfriend. We can all speculate to hell and back, but we're on the outside looking in. We don't know what happened. The best we can do is take the rulings levied against them, perhaps with a grain of salt.

I honestly don't know. It's a giant toss-up. I don't think we can stop Newton, and I don't think that Auburn's D has an answer to our offense either.

I'll tenatively say Oregon-45, Auburn-42.

Dude, I don't think LaMichael James strangled his girlfriend.

Oh. I've been reading your back and forth with wheaton for a while and that's just how you came off to me...sorry

It was intentional. I was attempting to illustrate the similarities in the situations in hopes that he'd understand that it's hypocritical to condemn Cam Newton for his transgressions, while giving LaMichael a pass for his own.

I don't really know what happened in either case, but I'm willing to give them both the benefit of the doubt.

Good. I do too. Whoever wins, I just want it to be with no asterisks attached.

I'm sick of hearing about the off-the-field stuff. It'll be sorted out in due time. Let's all worry about the damn game as of now.

The information we have is that James did not choke out his girlfriend, nobody who is aware of the situation thinks that he did.

The information we have about Newton does not rule out that he did something wrong. Lots of people who are aware of the situation think that he did something wrong. It's a reasonable position given what we know.

There is no comparison between the cases.

You only did what any rational person would do.

Actually, we do know what happened in the James case and it wasn't as bad as taking $180k to pick a school and lying about it to the world for months (which is what Newton is suspected of doing).

You're either lying about your intent or this was an epic fail of a point.

Damn, you were there when LaMichael was beating up his girlfriend?

Did you watch, cheer em on, help em out?

No. I just read the sentencing memorandum put together by the investigators that interviewed everyone involved.

Are you claiming now that they lied in their report?

No. I just read the sentencing memorandum put together by the investigators that interviewed everyone involved.

So then you don't know what happened when he and her were at the house that night? You just know was was "reported", and what came of it?

Are you claiming now that they lied in their report

Nope. Because all victims of domestic abuse report factual accounts to authorities. They never try to and protect their husbands or boy friends. Just doesn't happen. :eek:k:

You're really going to try and weasel out this way?

Based on the logic you're trying to use here, you don't even know if the SEC exists since you haven't witnessed everything that every player, coach, etc. has ever done in person. It could just be a big fabrication put together to fool Bumi!

Yes. It's possible that there is more to the story in the James case. Just that nobody has shown any evidence or reason to believe that memorandum wasn't an accurate reflection of events based on testimony from both sides of the situation.

Contrast that with the Newton case. Not only does it defy logic that Newton wouldn't know about the deal, the quotes that he did know about it is evidence toward his guilt.

It's time for you to log out now. This is about as bad as it gets. **** tier posting right there.

See how easy that was? You don't know. You weren't there. All you know is what was reported.

Marcus Dupree.

the quotes that he did know about it is evidence toward his guilt.

Actually they aren't, or he'd be ineligible right now.

Then why are you trying to use that logic? Did you miss that point?

Yarrr. Just like you don't know whether or not the SEC exists. You just know what you think you see. Could be CG graphics and impersonators out to fool you.

A police report is substantial evidence in most peoples view.

Marcus Dupree.

Is not Cam Newton.

Actually they aren't, or he'd be ineligible right now.

The NCAA does not have a patent on evidence or judgment. They have their own reasons, standards, concerns for their decisions. That doesn't mean that others can't evaluate what is publicly known for themselves to determine what they think it means.

Is not Cam Newton.

Nor did I claim he was. You claimed it defies all logic for Newton not to know. I gave you an example of a former player involved in a pay for play scheme who didn't get, nor informed about the benefits his "pastor" received.

Nor does the city of Eugene law enforcement. But Ok Wheat.:good!:

Next time you'd be better off admitting you don't know.
