That's the one. I didn't say that they were world-beaters on defense.

They have a new D Coordinator and were caught off guard by a better than expected Nevada, in Nevada.

I assume you're under the impression they were also caught off guard when USC put 42 on em in two quarters? :ermm:

Phil Knight on Oregon Ducks as they play for BCS National Championship: 'We're exactly on plan' | OregonLive.com

As a 13-year-old Boy Scout, Phil Knight worked as an usher at Portland's Multnomah Stadium -- now known as PGE Park -- and watched his first University of Oregon football game.

The Ducks lost, 63-0, to the University of Washington.

Knight's destiny was not deterred, in part, because his father, UO alum William H. Knight, pointed the Cleveland High School track star toward the university. And legendary track coach Bill Bowerman provided the magnetic pull.

Five decades later, Knight is basking in the reflected glory of the 12-0 Ducks football team -- headed to its first national championship game, ever, thanks in some measure to the lavish facilities Knight has helped provide.

I think there are more Oregon fans on this site than their own site.

actually i think the ds are pretty similar in that they both have elite dlines and good tacklers in the secondary. of course there is a rather big difference between cal and auburns offense.

It seemed pretty apparent to me that Kelly, on Saturday, knew that we could win without running crazy with DT. I agree. It'll be balls out on Jan. 10th. Nothing will be held back.

Yea as agressive as Kelly appears, he knows when to keep things close to the vest. He most definitely reduced the playbook for the last several games after Costa got hurt. But with it being "ONE" game for all the marbles, I'd expect to see Thomas keep it a few more times on the option read. Especially against that agressive quick Auburn defense. Nothing takes the "quick" out of a defense like misdirection and a QB who can run the ball.

I believe that I wrote something like: Not World Beaters.

We'll see.

Thanks for your "help", Mr. "Nobody can hang with Alabama anywhere."

I'm sure that many are flocking to you for your incredible insight and accuracy in estimating football. You get your information from the back of a Phil Steele Wheaties box.

Shows how much this clown pays attention to football. Preseason #1 and everyone's pick to return to the title game.

Pre and early season predictions are crap shoots. But hey, I have no problem admitting I was wrong.

Not at all. I just like to talk football when I can.

It'd probably help if you knew what you were talking about, but I guess you're a necessary evil. Only you can make the "Wisconsin isn't playing well" comments, and be serious. :birgits_giggle:

Thank you for confirming my point. Your insight comes from trying to figure out what "everyone's pick" is. That's fine by itself. But, you actually think that regurgitating this "insight" and insulting people who disagree with it is "help."

Wheat, we can't all say stupid ish like you(Wisconsin isn't playing well, Stanford deserves to be the #1 ranked team in the country). Some of us choose to go off what we have, and at the start of the season, Bama was considered the best team in the nation, and rightfully so. It was indisputable.

Yet people did correctly question it and you acted like you knew better. You didn't.

So, next time, do everyone a favor and stop trying to "help."

Here's hoping that after we play Oregon in 2 years then all their fans on here trolling will leave the board. That's such a long time, though...

I'll take a different tact.

I look forward to hosting you guys. Feel free to contact me if you're going to the game. It would be fun to meet up, tailgate, etc.

I didn't know that Alabama was teh #1 ranked team in the nation at that time? Yes, I did.

You also thought they couldn't be beat by anyone. Others had a differing position that proved to be correct. They knew better than you.

Your "help" turned out to be a joke.

Na, you need all the help you can get. Definitely.

Well. You do help to provide laughs.

Oh, ok. Bama wasn't the best team in the nation. Next.

Evident by the fact that you're posts are often laughed at?

No. They obviously were not. Otherwise they wouldn't have lost 3 times. Other people pointed out that this might be the case and you acted like they had sinned against God.

What a joke.

I just can't bring myself to pull for Auburn in the NC game. I'm not sure why but for the first time in a while I'm pulling for a non SEC school to win.

I think Oregon 44--- AU 31
Vote and say what you think.

Maybe its the whole C. Newton thing or the fact I think Chizik is a joke of a coach...
