Oregon or Auburn to win NC?

Until the last 9 minutes of the game?

I guess...

Look, Cal held Oregon to 15 - sure. But Oregon still managed to have their way with the Bears in that fourth quarter, and they had no answer for us when it mattered the most. This on a day where DT struggled throwing, and his receivers uncharacteristically dropped a number of routine passes.

Having their way with a team now means winning by single digits against a team with a corpse at qb?

Oregon usually spreads, has a number of receivers that can block, and the OL is centered around guards and tackles that are very fleet afoot and can pull effectively every play. Ducks would get 5-10 yards at will against a 4-2-5. 3-4 with OLB's that can read and have top-notch lateral quickness is really the only way to effectively stop Kelly's O.
The Buckeyes run a 4-3. Maybe they changed it up for the bowl game, but they didn't struggle. Yes, I know Oregon is better this year, but there have been plenty of better defenses as well.

The two teams are entirely different. Maybe not literally (taking account for player returns), but the whole does not equal the sum of its parts, and the experience and changes from last year have helped to shape and evolve to the current team, which is not the same as last year's squad.

Cal sucks. They shouldn't have had an answer, they were clueless for much of the season. Regardless, They still controlled the line of scrimmage and held the Ducks to 15.

Let me clue you in "Oregon" fan. That Cal game is basically a rivalry game since Tedford took over. The games for the most part have been close since Tedford became head coach. Cal put everything they possibly had into that game and came up short. How well did they do the next week at home? ****ing stomped because they had nothing left because they put it all into "trying" to beat the Ducks. OK? They have a very good front 7 and that at the minimum is what's needed to slow this team down. Ducks have had issues on the road. Imo I wasn't impressed overall but they won the damn game when the other team put its all into trying to beat them. Do the rest of us real Duck fans a favor and don't pretend to be one of us. Enjoy the university but for crying out loud STFU!

I think the long layoff will get the defenses a little more prepared to play than most people think. That being said you just cant fix Auburn's secondary. 31-27. ducks

I can't take Bumi seriously. He jumped on the bandwagon before the season started and especially after Florida started sucking, yet all he does is come up with negative things to say about Oregon. He's a contrarian.

Both teams got the shaft (Oregon in 01 and Auburn in 04) so Im glad both get a chance to play for the title. Part of me wants Oregon to win cause Im a big Nike person lol, part of me wants Auburn to win so the SEC continues to have more fire power in their argument they are the best. It may just be one of those games I just sit back and watch with a beer. I have a feeling Auburn wins but 10+ points though.

I don't care if it was a rivalry game or not, the Ducks were held to 15 by Cal, who's been blown out multiple times this season. It shouldn't have happened, and it did because Cal controlled the line of scrimmage.

Their loss the following week had nothing to do with "giving their all against Oregon". They just suck. Or were their blow out losses to Nevada, and USC the fault of the Ducks as well?

As for the rest of your drivel, it requires no response.

Or honest.

Damn right. We might not even show up.
You might as well. AU has done everything in their power to win this year. Paying people off, fixing grades, deals with the Dark Lord, and possibly even using super soldier serum.

AU is going to kick the crap out of Oregon but in a few years be stripped of everything.

No, no they won't.

Thinking they will... Seen oregons d in person this year. There is nothing they can do to stop cam. He can put 70 points up if he wants (which may be needed).

LMAO

Stop it Milo...

I think the extra time off will disrupt both offenses and help both defenses. But Auburn should win in a close one. They've played consistently better competition so they are battle hardened. Oregon on the other hand....

Shortly after the game I predict a 75% decline in Oregon fan participation on this board. :good!:

I will say, while I can't stand Auburn and I don't really care for Oregon either, this game should be highly entertaining.

It's the first NC game in awhile where I can't say for sure who I think is going to win.
