I don't think SC is all that. They have the credentials on paper but they don't show it on the court like they should. They would have lost tonight had they not had some helpful nudges. I think Stanford has as good a claim on #1 as anyone. They've proven it on the court.

I understand why you would say that in some respects, it was a battle of titans, both teams are worthy and both could win vs the other 5-10 times…

I'm not mad at all at SC for this huge win! They came back from being down 18 to win, and that's impressive. I agree there were some bad calls that hurt Stanford, but that's not SC's fault.

Boy oh boy, I agree that play stoppage at the end when Boston fell was the worst. They obviously assumed she was hurt because she didn't pop right back up, but because she was just tired and hesitated Stanford missed out on a critical scoring opportunity with 5 on 4 numbers and THEN ended up getting nothing. That was so, so bad. But still, not SC's fault.

Rick, that game ended up almost a duplicate of the UT vs Stanford game, Cardinal get a big early lead and both UT and USC closed the gap in the third. Lot of parity in WBB this season.

Cardinal are very good team, one of the best.

I wanted to take a moment to say ty for this forum allowing outside WBB fans to have a place to discuss WBB game, LV site is the best for that, ty all. UT was the birth of excellence in WBB and it is very gracious of everyone here to let us post about WBB.

Was especially thankful for a dedicated thread to this game which Obv this site never had to do, ty. The inclusiveness of this site differs from others, so few places to talk about the game of WBB.

Shoutout to South Carolina. They made an incredible comeback and have put together an elite resume early in the season.

I do think they’re beatable though.

Question if the season get canceled due to Covid at some point does SC declare themselves champions and do these 5th year seniors get to come back and get a 6th year?

PG1, let’s hope no further cancellations. Not sure on senior rule obviously if it comes to that. Everyone, included SC fans would rather see it played out, they wanted the same last time when their one loss team couldn’t play it out. I get it though…but like another poster stated, the banner simply says ranked no.1 at end of a season not finished, never declared NC, and tbh others teams have leveled no.1 banners in years when another team has gone on to win NC, which SC has never done. It’s all good, just a bunch of WBB teams doing their best to elevate the sport and take some pride in efforts put forth.
