I like the fact that he is an Eagle Scout. It doesn't make him a better football player but it tells me that he is probably a good kid.

According to cascade11 his offer list makes no difference at all and he has a great chance at All-American status.. I believe that SMG feels close to the same. I was slammed repeatedly a couple of days ago by these guys for disagreeing with their opinion on this commit. I think he is a huge reach,,.. JMO, and that seemed to be the problem, that I would have an opinion.

Growing fond of the new partial staff but not this prospect.

Since then I have seen the light..

The fall back option does make a difference to me, and if we can't fill the class, then by all means I say take a shot at him.

Listen, I'm not opposed, and am not in a position to argue with SEC football coaches, Just a guy like most of you with an opinion. My initial concern with Crump was that he had no offers from anywhere else with any credibility. I found that very odd. I find it surprising that most of us on here don't.

That was my point and thats all..

Hell, sign him to play QB if he's the best player left on the board. I guess... GBO

The reason people don't find it odd is because it isn't true. Auburn wants him but they just want him to grayshirt first.

This sentence makes no sense.

First you say your opinion doesn't change on the validity of the offer since its a fall back option. In other words, you still disagree with offering him.

Then you say if we can't fill the class, take a shot at him.

It seems like you and CDD are on the same page here, and your previous posts on the topic are all null and void.

You owe CDD an apology if he is in fact a fall back.

A lot of players are unevaluated and Crump is one of those.

Ever wonder how some no name teams get great athletes that make it to the NFL - it's because they are undiscovered gems.

A top notch recruiting staff needs ace evaluators. These coaches do not rely on Scout or Rivals. They evaluate and offer as they see fit.

I think Crump is a steal and high motor guy that never stops. Love guys like him.

Understood! I apologize to CDD, The staff and all of VolNation.

Lets see, also I love this prospect and not to take him would be a great dissapointment. I obviously have grossly underestimated his ability and the fact that Auburn and other schools are all over him to come to their school was an oversight on my behalf.

If you choose to forgive my initial opinion, I will be greatly appreciative. If not I will be deeply troubled...

Wasn't Stanley a 2 star coming out of high school just like Crump is now? Give Crump another 2 years to develop, then he could be equally as good as Stanley is as a 20 year old.

thats a good point

but Stanley was also able to play and develop.

Time on the field in Live games is invaluable thats hard to simulate and duplicate in practice
