'10 CA ATH Ronald Powell

UT's had a lot of success with DL, too. Monte and Orgeron also have success with putting guys in the NFL that do well there. Florida hasn't had that in awhile. I'm not saying Strong will leave, but there has been some noise about it and I'm sure that's being exploited.

What? You mean Jarvis Moss and Derrick Harvey aren't stud DE's in the league?

How has Florida not had success putting players in the NFL? That's a VERY baseless statement.

If he does, which he probably wont, it'll likely be after Powell has already committed and possibly enrolled.

Powell has us third and is coming for a visit...he wants to feel comfortable with a staff. Bottom line is that he is the best DE we have left on the board to pair with J Smith and if we do not get him we will still have a great shot with several 4 star DEs.

Powell knows he can play at UT as a freshman. UF cannot give him that shot.

Yeah, because there's no way more than 1 of the 32 teams will be looking for a pass rusher. That'd be just crazy.

So you honestly think Dunlap wont be the first end picked? Nearly everybody has him projected as just that but because a few coaches at UT say a UT player will be picked you believe otherwise?

What are talking about? The UT coaches said Walker would be a 1st round pick. Not that he would be the first DE taken...

Both of our starting DE's are leaving after this season to enter the draft, how will he not be able to play if he comes in and competes?

You are not a strong reader.

Stay in school.

Oh, I apologize. I misread you post, I thought you said he'd be the first end picked. My apologies.

Mos Def.

TN beats UF by 3 on the 19th. You think Powell commits to UT then and there?

I don't think UT beats us, you aren't strong enough yet. At least not this season, maybe next year.

He isn't going to UT, but I do think he may commit to UF after the game. Hopefully, if he does commit he'll get OwaO to do so as well.

Fowlkes, Harrison, Bohannon?

Martin, Sykes, Williams are just fine. Rae is not strong cause his head is not right.

Walker will leave after a big season this year.

How do I know we would play Powell? Have you seen his weight reps? He is strong enough to play as a freshman, and Kiffin is happy to play you at safety, at WR, at RB, at DL etc if you are better than what we have.

I for one think Luc and Powell both believe correctly that they are better than the guys who will be left on the TN roster in their position next year.

I didn't say Powell wouldn't get to play at UT his freshman year, I said theirs a chance he'd get PT his freshman year at UF.

Luc is going to UT, I think he'll be at FSU when it's all said and done. If not FSU then UF, either way he isn't leaving the state of Florida.

If Powell isn't at UF he'll be at USC. Sorry.

I wish for once one of the people on here (and you are not the only one by a long shot) would say their reasoning.

Having known some guys while they were being recruited and misreported, I always think this part is funny. I do not know where R. Powell will go. Neither do you. It may well be that he does not know either.

Luc and Joyner are both FSU leans by all indications, but we do not know what will happen this year with FSU. I think they could well be a team that really struggles badly. If Miami and FSU both have bad years it will help TN a good deal.

If they lost to Miami, BYU, NC and Florida lots of the shine would be off the FSU program that is always promising championships they havent sniffed in a long time.

The thing is, all signs point to UF or USC. He speaks very highly of us, USC is home, he has family at UF, etc. He flew down for FNL and stayed for an extra week, his mother likes us and she's supposedly looking for housing down in Gainesville for if he does commit to UF. Seriously man, he really isn't going to UT.

We're distant seconds for both Luc and Joyner, so if they decide not to go to FSU they will both likely be Gators. It's doubtful that they'll go anywhere other than FSU though.

If we can get this guy in for an official visit, then our chances will go up.

He has stated numerous times that he is very interested in these 3 programs.

Florida and USC both have the lead on this kid and have visits scheduled, but if I were them I would be very concerned that HE said that HE wants to visit Tennessee. He could commit to either USC or Florida at will but UT is still on his mind.

He may have a higher standard than giving up 232 yards to Charleston Southern Prep.

Right now its early for us to try to beat out UF and USC, not saying it vant be done from time to time. We have an outside shot at this kid, but I believe ut has to play well in the swamp, and that Im not confident about.

So let me get this straight, because I'm of the opinion you have no chance with Powell or Luc(common knowledge), and I didn't get excited about UT's win over WKU(I'm not thrilled with our win neither), you're offended? It's a question, leave the insults out.

No chance isn't correct. There is always a chance, and if you read through the threads most have conceded it isn't likely but we have confidence in our coaches to pull surprises. There is no harm in us posting, "he's good, I wish we could get him" which is what most of the Luc thread says.

We are excited about WKU mainly because of a dismal previous season. You should already know about Wyoming and N. Ill. We are improved whether you admit it or not.

Your win means a little less considering your expectations are to go to the NC, ours are to get 8+wins and win a bowl game. Not that I wouldn't love to pull an upset over the gators though and I do think it is possible.

But to the matter at hand you posting to just downplay our win or to say "you won't get him" adds nothing new to the conversation and thats why you are being flamed. Show us a link or some facts that are relevant and you wouldn't be so bad off

I understand where you're coming from, but from the information I've gathered it's either USC or UF. I'm not saying UT can't recruit because they can, most all teams in the SEC can. I'm just very confident that he'll end up at USC or UF.

I don't think LUC ends up at UT or FSU, I mean it's my opinion, but all signs at this moment are pointing to FSU.

I know why UT fans are hyped about the win, but I'm of the opinion that you should wait until you play stronger teams before you get too excited.

Understood.
