really? it's not just being a homer, i think this staff COULD pull it off. i wouldn't be surprised. would you?

but really, if it is florida, bama takes a backseat to the florida rivalry.

calm down; it's cause this thread got out of control this afternoon, way off topic and overposted, and the kid's probably not coming here. That's just at this overstuffed thread for a player who'll probably be playing on the west coast

and if he goes to UF, it doesn't effect the rivalry. He becomes part of the enemy, not some POW brainwashed and turned rogue or something. It's UT and UF that the intensity's about, not some QB who jumped back and forth before settling down on one

wild card. who knows. if he doesn't pick us, who do we go for? bray is talented? but really. i think we make do with stephens or the juco. and hope for 2011. and his job would be on the line. i like mike hamilton, in this climate. you have to get a winner and we can't do that without a quarterback who can compete for championships.

yea but with scroggins comes a wave of other talented offensive players which will get the recruiting ball rolling

most likely juco cameron newton who had played at florida a bit, or just some 2011 qb next year...assuming noone decommits and decides they like UT

well yes, absolutely. that's what is really bothersome. we can't get those skill players without a "name" signal caller. if kiffin can really coach up crompton this season, that will do a lot for recruiting. other than that, it's cold calling.

if we dont get scroggins then crompton or nick will have to step it up, along with the rest of the offense to help sell the offense to recruits and also the coaching ability of the staff. i think we will see quite a turn around from last season, closer to the 07 season before we went to the clawfense. then the recruits will want to come and will trust the abilities of the staff

i hate to say this, but i feel that's a pretty big IF right now

that's a huge if. a lot of people are saying fans a basically sitting on the panic button, but really, we do need a good qb in this class and if js doesn't come here, we will settle for juco as the best option. and who knows, it could end up working. but great wr's and skill players don't want to catch passes for a question mark. if we don't land a qb this season, kiffin's job gets that much harder because it's on him to make the players we have good. and if he does, the effect on recruiting will be great. if not, who would come here?

I was just "if"ing about crompton being able to turn it around, and turn it around well this year :birgits_giggle:

But I do agree with alot of the points about the importance of getting a good qb and soon

oh, sorry and yeah who knows. crompton has the raw talent, he needs someone to develop it. we will be wandering in a qb wasteland if he can't do it. the ginger avenger has heart, but is unproven. all i'm saying is that all the panic is warranted. if we don't this class, we won't have signed a great kid in three years?? that's alarming.

yeah, there needs to be improvement in the qb area definitely, and if we can't sign anyone, it means this will all fall onto cromptons shoulders and I really dont think he's going to improve all that much (for some reason kiffin seems to like him though...) but yeah, the qb situation is a very big worry right now

the way kiffin gives him preference. i imagine he wants to foster (no fumble) an appearance of of confidence in his qb and his coaching skill but it just seems hard-headed if he can't sell anyone on it. i mean, what's the draw next year? it's the same situation, different qb. he needs to get lucky soon.

eek, minus one no

kiffin's already said that our offense next year will be run centric. so maybe on play action roll-outs he'll get his lsu on and hit someone. make some plays. his 40 isn't awful. if the zone blocking works, we might see hardesty and brown making big plays. please. i was at the orange and white game and the best back was poole. who knows. maybe we'll hand it off all year run old style tennessee football. pound the rock.
