'10 CA QB Jesse Scroggins

You can't judge the QB at all in these AA games.

The OLs are generally awful, he's never played with the WRs, TEs, or OL before, they've played in that offense for 3 days, ..etc

Look at his overall body of work and offer list. Not one meaningless game.

If Pete Carroll, Urban Meyer, and our staff want a kid and say he has a spot, I'll take my chances.

As you can imagine, with the recent news that former USC head coach Pete Carroll is now headed to the NFL, it has become open season on Trojan commits. Two players who have seen their phone blow up are Lakewood (Calif.) teammates quarterback Jesse Scroggins and safety Dion Bailey.

Scroggins is one of the nation's top signal callers and the Under Armour All-American committed to the Trojans at the Elite 11 quarterback camp last July. He was also looking at Tennessee and Florida and both programs have been in touch.

"They all said they still have a spot for Jesse," Lancer coach Thadd MacNeal said. "Urban (Meyer) told me if Jesse wants to open things up and decides on signing day he wants to be a Gator, he'll take him in a heartbeat."

I personally would LOVE for scroggins to end up in florida. He will be easy pickins for TN's D.

Down the gutter? Have you seen the talent that is coming in? Zook didn't have this much talent on the roster and still managed not to bungle things up too bad and he never had a 7-5 season or worse. Any guy with a brain could get at least 8 wins out of this group, Urban or not.
Zook had more defensive talent where it matters, period.

Blue-chip quarterback Jesse Scroggins, who has been committed to Southern Cal since July, didn't enroll in classes Monday for the second semester, putting his commitment to the Trojans in question.

As the Knoxville News Sentinel reports, the Trojans loss might be Tennessee's gain, as Vols coach Lane Kiffin recruited the talented signal-caller hard right up (and probably long after) he chose the hometown Trojans. The lack of communication from anyone at Heritage Hall likely did the Trojans in, as Scroggins' high school coach, Thad MacNeal, told the Wall Street Journal they hadn't heard from anyone at USC.

Meanwhile, one USC recruit has taken to Facebook to help save the crumbling USC recruiting class. Randall Telfer, a safety from nearby Rancho Cucamonga, has formed the group "Let's keep the 2010 USC Football recruiting class together!!" with hopes that it'll keep the elite group of recruits Pete Carroll put together with the Trojans. The group has around 550 people in it, and offers all the intelligence you'd expect out of an open forum that allows just about anyone to say anything they'd like on the internet without repercussions.

read a post over on VQ...

Scroggins has given USC an ultimatum...if they don't hire a coach by Saturday, he will start looking around.

LOL @ him giving them an ultimatum...

LOL... are you serious. That is awesome. I think Meyer and Scroggins are the same person. They deserve each other.

Wow.

if we had room, i would bet we would make a strong push, regardless of Bray.

unfortunatley, this ship as long since sailed and there are others higher on the board at other positions now...

Hopefully people with access to the comments will be kind enough to post some of the more colorful ones. This could be good.

i know alot of people wont like this but ill take him. I like bray 2 but with the Wr coming in this class. i want to be sure we have the right Qb. If lane wanted him then i want him

Any and ALL OF YOU were right, in saying the Simms commitment was a mistake. He should have walked on and had money-bucks DADDY pay for it. You were Right.

I really am content with Bray. He may not be ready to start by the fall, but I really think he'll have a bright future at UT.
Scroggins needs to just go ahead and go to USC. The hire he needs to worry about is who USC will hire in three years, after they fire this next guy.

The Morning Monster radio show (Tri-Cities area) this morning reported that Scroggins called a press conference this past weekend. His message was: If USC doesn't have me a coach by Saturday, I will take my arm elsewhere. He also said he expected to be a championship QB by 2012 and wanted a solid program to do it at. Not saying I want him here, but I found this info interesting.

Scroggins is not the right QB, if the ultimatum is true. You dont have players dictate policy

ordinarily i would agree with you, but i give this an exception. JS was supposed to enroll this week, and now becaus USC is running around like a chicken with its head cut off, his decision waits in Limbo. he has a right to know his "future" soon.
