It doesn't actually sound like he was demanding the school to hire a coach by saturday. It sounded like he is hoping they will and if they haven't, he is going to open his recruitment back up. Maybe he has a back up plan with another school in place and the school needs to know this weekend. He has a lot riding on this decision as well. You can't blame him for looking out for himself. Now, if he was actually being demanding about it like they care what he wants... that's different. To me it just sounded like he wants to get everything in order as soon as possible. They said he was suppose to enroll a couple of times. Pry just wants some stability so he can get it over with.

I'm sure USC, with Matt Barkley, is freaking out over that. Who does this kid think he is?? He won't even play there for the next 2-3 years. I really hope Kiffin doesn't try to chase him down.

Lol about their degree saying USC on it at the end of the day. Like that's really why a top recruit picks a school. Most of them won't get their degree anyways. They are going there because they wanted Pete Carroll to get them to the NFL.

Jesse Scroggins called his shot Monday night: He will win a national championship at USC in 2012.

Unless he decides to go elsewhere.

The Lakewood High quarterback has imposed a Saturday morning deadline for the Trojans to name a replacement for Coach Pete Carroll, who has resigned to take the same post in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks.

If USC doesn't name a successor by then, Scroggins said, "I'm going to look for a college who could win the national championship in 2012."

I don't see that as an "ultimatum" but rather a kid thinking he has less than 3 weeks left to pick a school and isn't going to take a chance with USC getting a dud. Pretty reasonable IMO

Whose to say he was giving them and ultimatum or being demanding.

Could have just been making his plans known. He plans on leaving if he doesn't know who the coach is. Can't blame him for that. I wouldn't want to be committed to a school if I didn't know who my coach was and I had other options.

Yeah but those weren't Scroggins words. It doesn't sound like he is trying to dictate the hiring process. Just that he is letting everyone know that he is moving on if USC doesn't get it together. USC is crumbling right now. At the very least it would nice to know who your coach will be because you don't know what all the penalties are going to be.

I have absolutely no clue how this signing class is going to pan out! How in the heck are we going to sign everyone? I guess this is a good problem to have.
