Crompton won't be playing on Sundays. He may be warming a bench.

But at this point, it honestly seems like he hasn't improved an absolute ton. It just seems like the coaches are working the offense around him more (ie only a couple reads, one half of the field, more rollouts, ..etc)

:jawdrop:Wow honestly

Eh, we all know Crompton had the tools to make all of the NFL throws. He even did it a few times in his bad games. It just seems like now they're cutting down his options, not letting him think as much, and just letting the talent carry him.

idk though.

Edit: plus, he did get kind of screwed on the interception numbers earlier on due to tip drill, blah blah blah, so that kinda made him look worse than he really was.

well to bad crompton will be playing on sundays next year and wont be around as a GA, to teach tyler about leadership as a QB, not saying he wont be a good one, but the only interview i heard was on bassillios radio show and he seems so timmed and awkward, maybe he was just having a crappy day or will get over that or something. theres no room playing QB for nervouisness esp in the sec.
From what i understand from that long sentence is that Bray might be timid? You don't have to talk big , to be big. Bray is legit.

he can play, but it takes poise and mental toughness to play in the sec, great example this guy that plays for us and wears number 8.

im not saying he dosent have it or wont, im just saying he seemed scared on the radio, hows he gona feel when the camera is on him, and 109,000 people.
we will have to wait and see.

Some people have a fear of public speaking... last time I checked QB's aren't required to recite speeches on the football field. Your argument holds no merit. Thank you for playing, Chuck tell him about his lovely parting gifts.

Playing football well and being a great interview are often very different things.

that would be slightly intellegent if it was an argument, but i know for fact, if your timmid in the huddle your team is gona feel that too. i belive he will be fine. and when hes on the field and the aderenaline is pumping he may be a whole differnt person than i saw in the interview, there is a good chance that is the case. i hope so. im not trying to take aaway from the kid at all, im stoked hes here.

Have you not seen soft spoken giant D linemen go out and cause havoc on a football field? What a person sounds like in an interview talking to people he doesn't know when he probably doesn't really want to do it has absolutely no bearing on how they play the game.

Chris Scott is a great example or he was his freshman year when I met him.

Peyton sounds like a moron when he speaks and that doesn't really speak to his ability.

Eli is pretty "timid" seeming in interviews and that hasn't kept him from winning a SB.

peyton and ELI are not timmid in the huddle, and yeah ELI has a hard time getting threw those oreo comercals.

Peyton sounds like a moron??? Are you really a Vol fan? That dude is one of the better spokespersons in the league.

Peyton is reall well spoken. If you are saying that because of his accent then you are the moron. Eli sounds a little dumb, though.

Peyton is obviously very intelligent and is my favorite NFL player. My point was more about his voice and accent. He sounds like he has a hearing problem when he speaks.

Eli just seems a little slow when he talks. Both guys are class acts and great representatives.

My point was that you can't judge a QB by how he sounds. That is ludicrous.

Bray is having a solid year. There were concerns that he did not have a great year last year. He performed well in the Elite 11, and I knew that his senior season was very important. He's killing it right now and has lived up to my expectations.

To clear this up, Tyler does not like talking about himself during interviews or even one on one talk, he would rather talk about anyother thing but himself. Tyler has the confidence in himself and more than likely truly believes that he is the best qb in the nation, but would not tell anyone that. He is definitely vocal during the games and in the huddle as he is a leader. His teamates are in full understanding that he is the leader. His record since the 6th grade now stands at 74-5.

Seriously, Peyton finished his degree in the College of Communications. He majored in public relations. If you'll notice, Peyton gets many more speaking roles in his commercials than most any other athlete.

Peyton learned this at UT. He was not going to be a star on SNL coming in as a Freshmen. Bray will learn how to talk to the media. It is 2 totally different things talking in the huddle and talking on TV. Bray will be fine at both.

I mean, yeah he has an accent, but that doesn't make him sound moronic. It just kind of goes with what you expect Peyton Manning to sound like.

I will admit that he is very charismatic and has improved how he presents himself more than I ever thought he could.

My point is that if you were to judge him only based on his voice/demeanor in HS, College or the early NFL then you would never think of him as one of the best QBs of all time.

The idea that you can judge how a guy plays football based on how he interviews is silly. Peyton's "aww shucks" presentation is what makes him very marketable, IMO.

You just completely contradicted yourself...

You should read the rest of the thread. I was responding to the claim that you can judge a QB by an interview and was going with the assumption to make a point of how ridiculous it is. :eek:k:
