To clear this up, Tyler does not like talking about himself during interviews or even one on one talk, he would rather talk about anyother thing but himself. Tyler has the confidence in himself and more than likely truly believes that he is the best qb in the nation, but would not tell anyone that. He is definitely vocal during the games and in the huddle as he is a leader. His teamates are in full understanding that he is the leader. His record since the 6th grade now stands at 74-5.
That was me that went to see the game. I was fortunate enough to talk to Mr. Bray for about 20 minutes (man is that dude big). His size gives me hope for Tyler doing just fine once he's on campus and in the weight room. Here are a few things from my discussion with Mr. Bray.
1. He is real excited about coming out to live in Knoxville. They are coming out on the 22nd (Nov or Dec??) not sure which. You guys might have a better guess at that according to what date Tyler has to be enrolled at UTK.
2. About his weight...He said Tyler had been up to just over 200, but then he got sick and is now about 195 or so.
He looked real skinny in the arms from my perspective last night, but he definitely has the frame and genetics to put on some weight.
3. Dad wants him to start freshman year and has offered his son an "incentive" if he does so...sorry, that's all I can divulge.
From the game...
1. Tyler's arm is the real deal. Kid can straight toss it. My dad kept saying in warm-ups, "I haven't seen anyone throw like that since Peyton was here (here being UT, not Selma, Ca obviously). k: He was accurate on ALL throws in warm ups and can toss all the toughest throws with great accuracy.
2. Tyler has a swagger about him. It was apparent that he was the captain of the team and they listened to him. There were a few scuffles on the field and he didn't back down, and also didn't go too far (a la LaGarrett Blount) on anyone. Cocky, but not too much, just the right amount you want to see from an athlete.
3. He sometimes has a "Brett Farve" syndrome as I like to call it. Since his arm is so strong, he tried to fit about 5 or 6 balls into places that they just weren't going to go. This resulted in 2 int's.
If I think of anything else, I'll post it later.
I have to agree with alot of you say on your points. Tyler did try to squeeze in a couple of throws that should not have been thrown. Even he knows better than that. But if you look at how Selma was defending them , that was crazy, they put nobody down for the first few drives and stood up 11 guys and ran them around. They totally disregarded the run and eventually Kingsburg ran for over 250 yards. If your an OC , it's hard to throw the ball against a crazy defense like that. That was me that went to see the game. Last nights game was sloppy by the whole team. Drives kept getting stopped by fumbles. Tyler threw 2 ints. On the first, he was rolling out and overestimated his arm strength and it was picked. Had he completed it, it would have been a spectacular play. He should've just ran and made the most of it, but was probably a lil impatient like the entire Kingsburg crowd for some scoring. Having deep drive after deep drive negated by a WR or RB fumble is frustrating.
The second pick occurred when his WR slanted left towards the middle and Tyler threw an Out. Someone wasn't on the right page in the playbook.
There was also Tyler's fumble in the End Zone. Tyler QB sneaked from the 1, crossed the plane of the End Zone(Refs hate Kingsburg and you gotta atleast get the ball 3 yards deep in the endzone). Tyler's Right Hand was speared by a helmet and he fumbled. That was his last play of the game.
I don't think the injury is serious, but as I am just a fan, I haven't heard any news. They have a Bye week next week, so I think he should be ready in time.
Weird game overall. While the opponent Selma is just 5 miles down the road and their biggest rival, Selma was way overmatched. Their crowd was loud and hostile the players played way above their ability. Kingsburg moved the ball at will and their DE dominated Selma's OL. Still it was painful to watch good play, great play, good play, great play fumble. Don't get me started on the officials.
I can't wait to see what this staff can do with a quarterback that they get to develop themselves.

Ill probably get slammed for this but I know how much Volnation hates posts about Bo Wallace but how much better is the competition that Bray is up against? Just comparing stats this year, Wallace has him beat.

GA HS football is much better than TN HS foorball. With that said, go to the Hutson Mason thread and check out his stats. The kid is rewriting the GA HS record books and has no big time offers.
Wallace is not even on the same level as Mason.
