'10 DE Delvin Jones

It should be noted Jones was talking to HuskersIllustrated.com for that article, which was posted yesterday.

He keeps telling this staff he is very solid. We'll see what happens but my guess is he's just telling these reporters what they want to hear.

The only way Tennessee lets him go is if his grades still look bad a few months from now.

yea all the indications last week were that Jones was all Vol. i don't like the sound of him not being impressed with our defense even though we didn't even allow UGA or Bama to score a TD. I don't get it...

He's not impressed because a D this good can't provide him with his early playing time he needs. He should check out Western KY's D he should be really impressed.

That's truly a hard one to figure...

Arkansas give up 52 points to a Georgia offense that can't score a TD on us. They give up 35 points to an Alabama offense that can't score a TD on us. Sounds like the kid is making excuses and looking for a way out.

Sounds like my gf.

Comments like that about the Arkansas and Nebraska defenses being "good" or "physical" makes it pretty easy to see why he is having grade issues.....good grief.

I don't understand. If it were grades he wouldn't be able to go to any other SEC school for that matter so why would it matter if he likes Arky's Defense. And whats up with him talking about Defense the whole time when really he's gonna be a TE for us most likely. Seems like the coaches are telling him he will get his first shot at DE but could help the team most at TE.

I completely agree w/ D. Jones. I like Arkansas' defense too! I just wish we played more defenses like theirs, is all! : )

Everyone is still talking about D. Jones as a TE. Again, as I've been hinting at for a long time and even blatantly said a few days ago, D. Jones is most likely going to end up as a DE. He is athletic and quick enough to be a TE but it has been said by several ppl who have seen him that his hands are questionable, at best. He doesn't even get thrown to much by his high school team! Luc has better numbers as a high school TE than Jones for goodness sake!! The dude knows he'll end up on D and he knows we are stacked this recruiting season on the line. Furthermore, the STAFF knew it, thus attempting to sell him on the possibility of being an elite TE for UT. Once here, he'd get his shot and eventually be moved. I may be wrong but unless his hands & TE skills improve dramatically he'll be on the D side of the ball. He knows it. The staff knows it. Now he's considering other options, like Arkansas' esteemed defense as a possibility. Case closed, questions answered.

Jones, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound athlete/defensive end from Miami (Palmetto), Fla., is one of two Tennessee commitments who appear to be giving the Rebels a long look. The other, fellow Miami native Ralph Williams, is likely visiting Ole Miss in early December with Scott. Jones could make that trip as well. The trio, Jones said, are good friends.

Why? He would be replaced by Lemonier. No sting there.

Lose Pat Harris, get Quarles.

Lose John Brown, get Calvin Smith...this staff will not be stung between now and NSD because they have so much goodness waiting in the wings.

He's about to see some defense on display when hold Ole miss to 1 td and kick their arse by 3 td's. If we put a beat down on ole miss i don't see how he doesn't stick it out with us
