'10 FL ATH Matt Elam

GatorBait.net $

I didn't know you were calling about that. I don't want to talk about any of that stuff [visits or rumors]. I don't know where people get some of this stuff. People need to just stop talking then.

Elam is clearly bothered by fielding calls from Gator Bait. He keeps saying that he's a Gator, but he's a lot more interested in talking to Vol coaches than Florida writers...

Though I made a verbal commitment to Florida last year to take the pressure off me, my brother thought it would be a good idea to take some visits anyway, just in case. So the recruitment is still going on and I'm getting attention from a lot of different schools. Other schools I'm looking at are Tennessee, West Virginia and Georgia.

I would say I'm 85 percent committed to Florida.

I think we'll run it by Elam before we take Dixon's commitment. Like a speak now or forever hold your peace type thing....or we could take both and stick Elam at LB/RB..who knows what this staff is thinking.

Funny how in the same day he says he's solid to UF to one reporter, but says that he is only 85% sure in a blog. The fact is that his next destination may depend on if Charlie Strong is still at UF when January rolls around, which is the same for alot of UF defensive targets.

He's a Gator, but he's doing a damn good job of making you guys sweat. And I love it.
Yeah he's as bad as Dunk IMO. I would rather take Tony Jefferson and Josh Shaw. Those kids want to be gators and in Tony's case Meyer is holding off because of a kid that might be 85% gator or solid depending on day or blog.

Charlie isn't a big factor in his recruitment. This is Meyer's prize and he's going all in with this one. It's Matt or bust..We'll know next month since he's an EE.

I think we should just keep pursuing Dixon. I am afraid that if Dixon sees that we are going after Elam harder than him, he will back down. Just IMHO. I think we have a better shot at landing Dixon and we could risk getting his commitment if we shifted our strategy to go after Elam. Again, just MHO.

Interesting because I've heard quite the opposite on that. Kind of hard to sell a kid's future when you can't tell him who's gonna be coaching him or calling his plays. Not saying Strong is as big a factor with Elam as he is with Luc, but he is important. That being said, the depth thing is alot bigger a factor with him. I'll take Dixon and Elam and UF can have Shaw and Jefferson, deal?

Na we will take Shaw and Elam...:good!:

If Joshua Shaw wanted to be a Gator, he would already be a Gator...
three trips to the swamp with two coming on his on dime plus Mom came along this weekend. Word is he's headed back for FSU game. All signs point to Gainesville. Rumor I'm hearing is Meyer will wait unitl FSU weekend to go verbal with the cali "silents".

We will take Shaw and Elam and you can have this Dixon fellow and Jefferson, assuming we decide to take a pass on him.

Would be a major mistake IMO to pass on a talent like Jefferson but its Meyers call. Sooners may be the new leader at this point but watch out for Canes. Think family moving back to state will play a major factor in his choice.

.

Are you trying to tell me you turned down Shaw's commitment? Because if you do, I'm gonna bust out laughing...

Glad to see all the gators showed up tonight. Scurred...

You'll see who he announces for...California will be kind to us this cycle... I figured you would know that with all your top quality sources....
