Though I made a verbal commitment to Florida last year to take the pressure off me, my brother thought it would be a good idea to take some visits anyway, just in case. So the recruitment is still going on and I'm getting attention from a lot of different schools. Other schools I'm looking at are Tennessee, West Virginia and Georgia.

I would say I'm 85 percent committed to Florida.

Anyone think that Elam might be feeling the pressure from dixon.... I think if they both wanted to commit the staff would find a way to take both, however who on here really knows what the staff thinks.... They may be putting the pressure on both of them and telling them they're taking on safety..... Who knows even though I doubt it. Just a thought.

Honestly, as a Florida fan I am getting annoyed by Elam. I don't think he is good enough to play this kind of game and we have other options at Safety that we can act on. IMO Florida should recruit Jefferson and Riley as if Elam was committed somewhere else. Then if Jefferson and/or Riley commit, we can still recruit Elam but we will be settled if he goes somewhere else. Let him go to WVU and play from day 1.

He's a 18 y/o kid so some wavering is okay but this weekly "soap opera" is getting old. Rumor is Meyer is going to allow Jefferson to take visit and Matt is upset(again). We are looking at Tony more at OLB at this point but if Matt goes elsewhere then TJ would move into that SS spot. If its UT, WVU, Bama or tOSU I wish the kid the best. But I'm a firm believer...I want players that want to be gators so IMO anyone that states they are "85% committed" doesn't sound like a gator . Just think UT fans are missing the point if they sign Dixon then Matt will go elsewhere. No way he decommits from UF for UT if they have another SS in this class.

I thought he was definitely not saying that. He was saying that it would be great for our program if we pulled them both and would give us enormous momentum heading into the all star football games where we may pull a few more guys.

Also as to the later package deal comment, no this is definitely not a package deal situation. UT would take either, and they may not end up together.

D. Mosley and Dyer is probably a package deal as is Lemonier and C Smith, this is just a situation where a friendship may have developed and if so that would be good for us if they both decide to play up here.

Bad for us would be that Elam and Luc both decide to play for the Gators. Those are the risks when you are recruiting studs from a state where one of the major teams close by has won 2 of the last 3 NCs.

I think he's all gator. Gator are going to take 2-3 Cb in this class with Dorsey being third behind Watkins, Shaw/Fulton and Dorsey but since it's unlikely Dorsey will make it into UF this year(grades..WVu bound or prep school) then Riggs takes his spot. Meyer has to get into metro dade not only because of the talent but because of the job Kiffin and staff are doing in the area. I know the kid has talent but this one is similar to Dunbar IMO...more about opening a pipeline and not about the "board"....NO WAY Meyer doesn't take one kid from the number HS in america. Joyner maybe a out of reach IMO so Riggs gets scholly.

The problem isn't Elam. UF fans make it out like the kid is the issue here. The issue is that Urban has promised the kid that he is not going to recruit any other safeties and that they are done. That was the main reason he was looking around in the first place. Now they are bringing in 3-4 other DBs. Urban can say that Jefferson is being looked at for OLB all he wants. I remember him telling a certain Jevan Snead that a certain Tim Tebow was going to be a LB. Some coaches never change. The fact is that Elam is starting to see through the BS. That is the difference between Lane and Urban. Lane came out and told Matt that we would still recruit other safeties, but that he was our top priority.

The way all the stories read and the comments from Fl fans about Elam is like they are so scared of losing the kid they are pushing him away. I hope they push him right to Knoxville.....

Funny because I think Lane told Riley he was a "top priority" but Meyer kept his word he hasn't taken any other safeties. Riley offer was because of Lane and Matt's UT visit then Jefferson calls UF about visit but Meyer held off until Matt took FSU visit. tOSU visit was always know because of brother and even FSU was possible visit but UT was slap to Gators. IMO Meyer did the right thing by giving TJ visit. As for as Snead, dude you took from that interview what you wanted to spin. Just like spin Yahoo Sports made from Vick's interview. Great tabloid editing.

Like I said NO way decommits if UT takes another SS(Dixon). We won't have to wait much longer paper work for EE's due by mid December.

Dixon can be a CB for us. He isn't overly big and is skilled enough to play both positions. We also have no other DBs committed and I'm sure we've told Elam we plan on taking 2 DBs.

Lane didn't tell Riley he was his top priority either. He said that he had the possibility to be the next Eric Berry. He said the same to Elam. That isn't lying. Any DB that comes in has that possibility. Lane did misplay that, though. Urban told Elam that he wasn't pursuing any more safeties. Now all of a sudden, he plans on bringing Jefferson in for a visit and his reasoning is that Jefferson will be an OLB. No way.
