'10 FL K Michael Palardy

Based on conversations I have had with coaches I hear that LSU, Miami, and Arknasas are still in Palardy's ear. Something tells me that if Sturgis doesn't show up, they may come after him as well.

If Coach Gran was still at Auburn, I would be concerned. However, he is in Knoxville which means Palardy will be our kicker next year.

Maybe both. I think at minimum, Palardy kicks off and kicks long field goals. Supposably, Lincoln tweaked his quad in pre-game. He doesn't kick field goals over 40 yards well anyhow. Is the backup kicker any good at all?

So to keep Palardy in the fold..IMO I can see Lane running to the locker room to give Palardy a text or call saying "Next year when we have you on our team we will beat the #1 team in the country because we will have you"! GO VOLS!

it's better to be the #1 team than beat the #1 team.

Totally agree. They are the #1 team because they are good in all three phases. Today we were only good at two while the third was not close to Bama. Great teams know how to win these games. We don't. That separates #1 from a "hope we can beat #1."

However, Kiffin is for real. No doubt. We are well coached for the talent.

Also, give the players credit for their effort and never give up mentality.

Yes. I did that in another thread as well. Its my brain wanting to refuse any memories of Lincoln. The guy was incredible as a freshman then just fell apart. I used to go to church with John Chavis' son, and he said Lincoln was a head case.

I understood that Palardy was sharing FG duties at STA, and that he was being recruiting for kickoffs (as he puts most everyone deep in the endzone or beyond) and punts.

I started a thread about us getting a top FG kicker (to go along with him...assuming he handles those duties) as well, and had a storm of smart@$$ remarks about that. Those of you who did so...:Bbiteme:

If he's a good, consistent FG kicker, great, but I can't think of a single player in recent football history that did all 3 on a regular basis. If he's going to be doing FG duties, then we still need another player like him at one of the others. We currently suck at all of 3.
