Never missed a game from his freshman through soph. season. Had an injury at the beginning of his Junior season and missed two games and hasn't missed a game since. He not only works out with team during week, but on Sundays as well for a couple of hours. Oh, here's an interesting tidbit...Palardy was a QB as a freshman he has 4.5 speed (soccer player) and has one heck of an arm. Fake punts and FG may be a wrinkle added when he comes.

One downside to Palardy doing all the kicking is if he gets hurt, we lose everything. Hopefully, he won't be injury-prone like Lincoln.

He should do all the kicking if he is the best on the team at everything. If he gets hurt, then I am sure there will be backups for everything.

cant wait for parlardy to get here ...but you all do know cunnigham had a quad injury and still kicked?

Update from Coach Conrad.....

Michael Palardy will accept the official invite from the Army All-American Game when the selection committee comes to his school on November 9. We will try to get some photos from the event up on Volquest. Palardy will represent the East squad as its kicker (should be punting too, to be honest - but the game is now inviting both a kicker and punter for more exposure - Palardy can outpunt the invite hands-down).

On a side note, Michael hit fg's from 55, 60, 65 and 70 - all coninuous, off live snaps and off the grass - at BIGfoot Kicking Camp last weekend. He grazed the uprights from 75 on his final try in front of a crowd of about 100 people.

As soon as the season (after the AA game) is over, he will take a month off and then we will begin intense work for his freshman year at UT. The intent is to win all three starting jobs next season. He will be ready.

Stud. Congrats Michael.

He is by far the most important recruit in the class. You could maybe make an argument for Bray/QB depth, but Palardy is so key to this class.

I agree! It will be great to have a place kicker who can kick a field goal further than 45 yards!
Go VOLS!

We will still have Lincoln and Cunningham next year. The coaching staff will need to bring in another one tho. Acosta or Fletcher would be nice.

Not only that but it will help our return coverage. The SEC is littered with extremely dangerous return men and we are at a huge advantage that we have a guy who can kick it out of the endzone every time.

I haven't heard of a college kicker hitting a FG of over 65 off the ground since Martin Gramatica was at Kansas State, and he hit his off of artificial turf indoors.
